One day, I decided to renovate my bathroom with new paint and moldings. I have found out that crown moldings are extremely difficult to install because it doesn’t just attach flat to the walls like the floor moldings. It took me an entire day watching youtube videos before I even attempted the first cut. After the confusion of interior & exterior, right & left cuts I finally started to understand the geometry & physics of installing crown moldings. The Jig was not easy to use for someone with absolutely no knowledge about crown moldings but after about 3 hours of practicing on scrap wood anyone can do this. I give this Jig a thumbs up because without it I would of quit for sure. I don’t know what kind of review I can give for this Jig because it’s the first one I ever tried but I like it and I have no need to try another type.

Makes cutting moulding very easy. You don’t have to work upside down and backwards. Works with all the angles just by placing the yellow piece in the correct position. Great product and wonderful directions.

Jig was really easy to use and does what it says it does. The only negative thing, is that it keeps the molding up off the saw (basically floating) so when cutting, you need to be careful or it will shoot chucks across the room. An 80 tooth blade and making sure your steady will Basically eliminate that though.

This jig is awesome. I started kitchen project and could not figure out crown to save my life. I bought the Kreg and still no luck with many feet of crown going to waste. I bought the General Tools jig, watched a video and then did the job. AWESOME!

Very easy to use. The angle gages are very useful and self explainable. However, it could be made in a stiffer material. The plastic used to made it is not so rigid and sometimes is difficult to keep the molding and the cutting jig aligned with the mitter saw table.

I just finished installing two-part molding – bottom piece is flat against wall and the second (top) piece is 52 degree crown. This jig made it a snap. (I struggled through doing the same job without the jig using with same molding in another room – much, much more difficult. Best money I spent on this or any other recent project.

I don’t have a lot of experience working with crown moulding and wasted a lot of material trying to figure out the angles. This tool fixed that, making the angles easy and providing a quick reference so you don’t accidentally cut the wrong way. It also sped up the project timeline, another added bonus. I highly recommend it for the average DIYer.
