Since 1910, General Tools has grown to become the recognized industry leader for specialty hand tools and instruments. Carpenters, builders, interior decorators and DIYers know that crown molding lends artistic flair to ceilings and walls. Whether dressing-up ceilings, adding decorative elements to cabinetry or enhancing door and window hoods, Generals Crown King jig enables cutting precise joining angles every time. Its distinct design eliminates confusing upside-down miter box positioning and compound angle cutting, enabling fast and easy production of interior and exterior corner joints. With its 38/52 Degree insert, the Crown King enables cutting the three most common crown molding spring angles.
- Removes annoying trial and error and streamlines the creation of crown molding since crown stock is orientated in the crown king jig the same way it is installed so it’s easier to visualize and plan cuts, no flipping stock or inverting angles
- Crown king jig eliminates the need for confusing upside-down miter box positioning, compound-angle cutting, complicated compound miter angle calculations, coping of joints, back-cuts and auxiliary fences
- Features adaptor for 52° and 38° spring angle crown stock or remove adapter to cut 45° spring angle crown
- Create perfectly fitting interior and exterior crown moulding joints
- End-user needs only to rotate the saw blade to the angle corresponding to the corner of the walls
- 4-simple steps: (1) measure the interior (INT) and exterior (EXT) corners using the included angle finder/protractor, (2) set the saw blade direction as indicated on the top of the jig, then set the blade at 1/2 of the measured angle, (3) hold moldings securely in the jig and make the cut using an electric or hand miter saw, (4) test fit and then install crown molding
- Includes handy angle finder/protractor
- Suitable for electrical miter saws, radial and table saws and adjustable manual miter saws

For my first crown moulding project, I did the upside down cut technique. It worked, but I really just lucked out without any kind of jig. For today’s 2nd project, a much bigger crown moulding project with inside, outside, and non-90 degree angles, I knew I needed to step up my game. I picked this up at noon today and busted out about 100′ of crown moulding in the family room and hall by dinner time. With this jig you do not need to flip the moulding upside down. You cut it at the same angle that it will go up on the wall/ceiling, so it’s a LOT easier to visualize your intent before cutting. One of the videos described it as WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) as far as the angle that the jig holds it at while you cut – the same angle as will be on the wall. It worked flawlessly. It was the perfect jig for the gig! I very much recommend it…very easy to use too.

Crown molding cutting made simple once you develops a method to measure length. Since this jig cuts from top edge & you always measure crown from the bottom, it’s best to clamp jig on saw & mark on saw where cut takes place. Then you can match up length mark on back bottom of molding to the saw mark. Didn’t find any discussion of “length” in directions.

I am 55 YO lady DIY’r and have done crown a time or 2. I always struggled wrapping my brain around the cuts. I almost hired a pro. I decided to give this a try. O my.. this made it so easy. The only trouble I had was one outside corner that was way off of 90. The angle tool helped w that cut.

Works like a champ…but you must got slow to understand you have to cut the opposite side for a compound miter…buy plenty of extra for those cuts you forget what side your cutting!

I ruined about $30 worth of crown molding before I bought this. It worked great! I wish i saw this and bought it at the start of my project, it would have saved me time and money!!I had 2 cheap spring clamps that I used to secure the jig to the saw which also worked great!

So I couldn’t perfect the angles but I still did it! We have had unfinished trim work for years! I finally bought this and tried my hand at it and it worked! I am a 48 yr old female and not really all that handy:-)
