An overall good set for the money. Steel seems of high quality. The punches thread on and off of the mandrel very nicely. The mandrel is also heavy, helping to transfer the energy from the hammer to the work piece. The punches came out of the box reasonably sharp. There is light knurling on the punches and mandrel that I think is a little shallow. The only downfall to this kit is that the centering punch has about 1/32” of play in the mandrel housing. Therefore it is very difficult to produce a piece with concentric cirlcles (like making your own hose washers). That could be overcome if you tighten the screw, but the pin will be off center, and you would have to clock mark your work to produce concentric punches. Not sure if that makes this a good deal to others though.
