Description
General Tools has grown to become the recognized industry leader for specialty hand tools and instruments. Drill Stops are used to prevent excessive bit penetration in doweling and other drilling applications. Attaching a Drill Stop to the twist or brad-point drill bit assures that hole is drilled to the specified depth. The set includes six, cold-rolled steel Drill Stops in a black oxide finish. The Stops attach easily to standard drill bits with a set screw and hex wrench (included). The set also includes a reusable snap blister for storage.

- Helps control drilling depth when drilling holes for joining 2 surfaces

This is a product that matches its price. The quality is not good. The inner bore diameter is too lose and the stopper dont fit properly on the drill shaft. The set screw can be easily stripped. But for 4 dollars i dont think i have much to complained.

The first time I used one of these and it worked just fine. You shouldn’t have a problem if you tighten the screw pretty good. I used it to drill holes on my brand new corvette decklid, and since it did that flawless, I trust it.

The drill stop worked just as I had imagined. It is wise to test before the actual use to get used to the handling. This was a bookshelf with adjustable shelves. Very pleased with it.
