The 8-volt lithium ion battery pack provides portability. Charger is simple to use; insert battery and indicator light changes from red to green when charged. Tool is pistol-shaped; switch/speed control is at location of hammer; collet lock button is at location of front sight; battery pack is inserted/removed at base of handle. Tool may vibrate if an inserted accessory is out of balance; manual provides simple instructions for balancing. My usage is insufficient to assess durability. Affordable price point. WEAR EYE PROTECTION. Two years warranty. Made in China.

Very handy little tool to add to the cabinet. All the accessories alone make this a worthwhile buy. The grinder feels comfortable in your hand, the controls are easy to use, and the speed is easy to set. Using it is pretty straightforward. I am a bit concerned on the build quality, I’m afraid what might happen if I drop it, but if you’re overly worried then you should spend a little more on a different grinder. For my needs this fits the bill. The different accessories all fit nicely and change out easily. And it will fit most major brands of attachments as well. My only real gripe is I wish it came with a storage case or bag. Not a need, but would be nice to have. Other than that should be a fun little tool to craft with.

I just tried out my Genesis 8-Volt Variable Speed Rotary Tool. It is powered by a Lithium-Ion Battery pack and comes with a charging stand and wall adapter. Also has a nice 65-Piece Accessory Set that is packed in a nice plastic case with compartments. Pretty much everything you need for crafts and small projects around the house. I like the fact that it’s design has a pistol grip. That makes it easier to hold steady. The back has a variable speed control with surprisingly good power. I already have plans to use this tool on future projects.

What a handy variable speed rotary tool to have to take care many different task such as cutting, sanding, carving, cleaning and polishing and many more. First of all this is designed more like a hand held drill which I think has more control than some of the other designs out there. This Genesis 8volt lithium-ion comes with the battery and the charger and to remove the battery all you have to do is slide a switch at the bottom and it injects right on out. Another great thing about this is it comes with a 2 year warranty and the speed is adjustable from just barely moving to very fast for any type of job. Head on down to Home Depot and pick yourself one up today. I forgot to mention that it comes with many different attachments and it will accept all standard rotary tool accessories.

The 3 size of collets makes this tool universal and can work with all standard rotary tool accessories. I just received this tool and put it use doing wood carvings. Genesis 8-Volt Variable Speed Rotary Tool with Lithium-Ion Battery Pack, Charging Stand, Wall Adapter and 65-Piece Accessory Set is a great design for the traditional high speed rotatory tool that is usually held like you would hold a big pencil. This little tool is powerful on high speed and I drilled, cut, sanded and polished, it worked well! The drill/gun like style gives you a little better control, but, It won’t fit into some small areas due to the gun shape. The variable speed control on/off switch is on the back of tool so you can’t turn it off and on or change the speed without your other hand or re-positioning the hand you are holding it with. It doesn’t have a battery state of charge on the tool or the battery and no LED light. Don’t let the small size or small battery fool you, it has some power and would be great for a hobbyist. The accessory tools that come with it are a nice starting set. It will fit any rotary tool bits you might already have.

The pistol grip design makes it very convenient and controllable when trying to do precision close quarters work. The kit comes with a wide variety of accessories and four collets for various shank diameter tools. Drilling and deburring are a snap with the tool tips provided. Additional accessories can be used as the collets provided accept most rotary tool bit shanks.

Cordless, easy to use and handle! Get most of the benefits of other rotary tools without having to deal with the cable in an ergonomic design that easily fits in the hand and gives confidence while using to grind, polish or drill intricate items. Just about everything you need to tackle your next project is included in the accessory box…other manufacturers don’t include this many accessories including diamond cut bits, drill bits as well as cutting and polishing wheels. Really nice set up. It is variable speeds, 0: Off to 5: Full speed. I said most of the benefits of the corded rotary tool because It doesn’t have as much torque/power as a regular corded rotary tool…this does not take away from it, I can do everything with the genesis as I can with my old wall powered unit…I have both so I thought it was worth mentioning. Another feature worth mentioning is that it brings three different heads for the bits, so you can use multiple sizes with the same tool. Great addition to the tool box of any craft man or woman.
