Being a female the saw is very easy to use, and not bulky and heavy. It’s cuts thru whatever you need like butter. I did not receive the metal cutting blade awaiting for it to arrive.

I am still learning how to handle this saw. It does take some practice. If you are not careful with the saw it can kick back until you learn how to use. I learned the hard way but experience is the best teacher. I have finally mastered the plunge saw. I use it to cut my new laminate flooring and cut in the vent holes for the air conditioning in the floors. It works excellent especially for the short length cut across the vent. It has a good depth setting as well. I really am impressed with this little saw. It will come in handy in my home remodel.

I use plunge cut saw mainly for tile and drywall projects. I just bought a flip house that needs a kitchen and bath remodel. The laser helps with accuracy, but the included miter based allows me to make perfect angle tile cuts. I like how the tool fits in my hand and is easy to use. The carrying bag keeps me from losing the accessories and the dust hose connects to my shop vac for drywall work.

I really needed this 3 1/2 ” Plunge compact circular saw kit. It even has a lazer guidance light. It comes complete with carrying bag, miter saw attachment, for making up to 45 degrees cuts, vacuum attachment hose for collecting sawdust,.allen wrench for changing blades, and even 3 blades, one for wood, one for metal, and one for masonry. This quite the handiest tool in my collection. It is powerful, easy to use, even can cut scrolls. I am very well pleased with it.

I had never even heard of the Genesis brand before I purchased this power tool, and I can tell you based upon my observations, I would not hesitate to own more power tools made by this brand. I did not expect this circular saw to be that powerful, it is after all, what I consider a “miniature” version of a larger circular saw. Much to my surprise, it is VERY powerful for it’s size. I made several test-cuts with some leftover 2×4’s, including cross cuts, and it did not even bog down. I marked a specific angle on one of my cross cuts, used the built-in laser as a guide, and it cut it perfectly. I uploaded a picture of how perfect and smooth it made the cut. It would have cut even smoother if I had the wood laying on a better surface than I had it on, but that was my fault. I appreciate how compact this saw is, and I must say, if I am travelling to a job where I need to make some quick cuts, this will be my go-to circular saw. It takes up less room, it is lighter, and it comes with the perfect storage bag. Another thing I appreciated which is almost unheard of with similar tools, is this actually came with several different types of blades! How cool is that? Now it doesn’t matter what situation I need this for, I will always have the blade I need for the job. The included wrench makes it easy to change blades, and there is a place to store it along the cord where it enters the power tool so you don’t ever lose it. At first I was worried this tool would only cut very thin materials, but that is not the case, it cuts as thick as it advertises, and it’s powerful enough to do so!

It is the perfect saw for small jobs. Its size is small enough to fit in my hand and still has the power of larger saws but has the bonus of more uses. I love the laser and the miter guide it came with.

Talk about precision and ease of cutting along guide.Comfortable grip with great trigger control while operating and you can feel the powerful torque with no low speed @ 4,500 RPM. Blade cutting maximum depth is 1-1/8th in.This is a quality tool and I enjoyed using it on the hard wood floor I recently installed. The cuts came out nice and clean.

I’ve been looking for a small saw that would work like both a skill and jig saw for light work around the home. The older I get the less patience I have for being “creative” with tools and materials when trying to build with my smaller hands. I rely on good power tools and this kit is awesome.

Saw is great but hose for dust port is cheap and useless.

I had to return the first one I bought, the laser only worked for the first two cuts. So far the replacement has been OK. I would have given it a higher rating had the first one not been defective.

I was very surprised to see everything that was included in this kit. From a carry bag, which also will hold the miter guide, the laser guide, and the soft metal blade, each was a plus over a basic saw in a box. Lots of features from depth of cut settings, to the ability to plunge cut. However, in practice the usability of the set and how well designed when meeting real world conditions becomes apparent. The safety button is really meant for right handers. Pressing it releases the plunge cut guard and allows the motor to start, but if you simply press it to release the guard and let go, then the motor switch will not engage. The safety must be held fully down at all times to use, which means putting a death grip on the saw to keep both buttons depressed. The laser is nice, but is not adjusted to be aligned at all times. I found it was only in alignment when the saw was fully plunged down to the lowest depth. The miter guide is a great feature, but I would have reversed the design so the work piece is closer to you and the swivel is to the left, not the right. Also, the clamp blocks seeing the angle of cut when used. I would have preferred a thumb wheel to tighten the angle and depth stops, the plastic levers just seem like they will wear out prematurely. A very nice concept, but missing a bit in execution.

Don’t try to build a house with this saw, but it is very useful during a remodel or in tight spaces or if your project isn’t portable. The laser directs you to exactly where you are going to cut and the plunge feature keeps the platform level on your surface. It works like a champ to cut holes through drywall for new electrical boxes rather than drilling a pilot hole and using a jigsaw. The miter attachment which comes in the box isn’t of much use to me since we have a compound miter saw for cutting trim, etc., although the big saw isn’t very portable and this little one can work inside the house. You might appreciate this one if you are still using the old wooden miter box with hand saw because it is a huge improvement over those days. The supplied hose for dust collection went on the saw without issues but I kinked it when I was trying to remove it which isn’t an issue for us because we tend not to use dust collection anyway. I worry about the depth adjustment lever because it is plastic, but the tool itself seems pretty sturdy. The saw, extra blades, and miter attachment fit nicely in the divided canvas bag which is included in the package.
