I received this drill for free for the purpose of reviewing. This is a good value drill for your larger home improvement jobs like mixing 5-gallon batches of cement, thinset, or wallboard compound. You might need it for drilling larger holes. At its price point it is one of the few drills that can accommodate a 1/2″ shank. The drill is heavy and has a lot of power.Due to the drill weight, it is not something that you want to lug around all day. You will need something smaller for screws and smaller precision holes.Overall, it is a great drill for its class and you don’t need to waste your money on an over-marketed name brad drill.

I used my Genesis Spade Handle Electric Drill for the first time yesterday. It is a hefty unit weighing over 8 lbs..I was pleasantly surprised with the power and adjustable speed control of the drill. It has three holes in the drill casing to allow the screw in handle to be moved from right to left or on top of the drill. This is a great feature allowing full control from whatever angle you are drilling. It had plenty of power to drill 16 holes through the thick concrete floor in the shop to anchor the new four post auto lift we are installing. Even after prolonged use it did not heat up like my previous drill did. Though the concrete is hard and put a lot of strain on the drill it performed admirably. The price and features of this drill make it an excellent tool that should last for years to come. I highly recommend it.

Beginning with a slight squeeze of the trigger it starts slowly with a wide range up to full RPM. Lots of torque and gets the job done quickly. I was able to mix 5 gallons of heavy floor paint in no time with no splatter. I also was able to mix mortar without any loss of control of the drill. I drilled several concrete mounting holes with carbide tipped ½ in bit without any problem at all.
