Designed to support AMD Ryzen 5000, 4000, 3000, 2000, and 1000 series processors with the AM4 socket, this motherboard takes advantage of the B450 chipset to power gaming, content creation, entertainment, and other demanding computing tasks. Up to 128GB of dual-channel DD4 RAM at 3600 MHz when overlocking can be installed across four memory slots for efficient multitasking and to run high-end games and applications. This durable ATX motherboard also has two M.2 SSD slots and supports up to six SATA III storage drives, which can be put into RAID 0, 1, or 10 configuration.
Its two PCIe x16 slots support both AMD Quad-GPU and 2-Way CrossFire video card configurations to boost frame rates for games, speed up video rendering, and more. Additionally, you can connect multiple displays to the built-in HDMI and DVI-D ports, which are driven by the Ryzen CPU’s integrated Radeon Vega graphics. Compatible add-ons may be installed to the PCI Express x1 slots. Other features include addressable RGB lighting headers that are controlled using RGB Fusion 2.0, with support for true white and UV LED light strips that produce bright and dazzling effects. I have had this one running 24 / 7 for about three weeks now and it’s flawless. This is about my 8th Gigabyte board. I purchase them because of their features, build quality and durability. I bought the first one about 12 years ago to try out based on specs, and it has been running 24 / 7 ever since. I am not a gamer, rather use these as home servers, video processing, and general desktop usage. This one replaces a B350 Gaming3 that developed an intermittent blue screen memory corruption fault that I couldn’t correct with software after running 5 years 24/7 in server / DVR duty. That was the only board that has ever failed me, and I can’t complain after 5 years. I swapped the board out in a couple of hours, moved over the processor, memory, video card, and the old hard drive with Windows 10 and lit it up. Windows recognized the board and loaded right up, I installed the new Gigabyte drivers, reactivated with my previous retail product key and put it back in service. I picked this particular board because it had compatibility to reuse my components and the right ports for peripherals- especially a good number of USB ports.

I installed this motherboard about a month ago and so far it has performed flawlessly. Easy installation. I quickly and easily updated the firmware and it is working swell with an AMD Ryzen 1700x CPU. I prefer the ATX form/size as it accepts the multiple sound cards and add-on serial port cards I use with legacy equipment. Nothing else to say – it just works and no news is good news for this type of thing! I cannot say why, but I think it runs smoother than my other computer which has a Gibabyte B550 Gaming Plus motherboard and newer AMD RYzen 3600 CPU. So count me very happy with the B450 Elite. TT

Used this with a new Ryzen 5 3600. Worked flawlessly and is a solid linux Mint 20 Machine.
