We purchased the filter housing just over a year ago. We have replaced the cartridge a couple of times. The filter works well and I would recommend it except that we just found out the replacement cartridge is being discontinued at our local store. It is disappointing to purchase a filter housing only to have the replacement filters discontinued.

I normally don’t have a problem with the filter however it does not last 6 months at all. Even with moderate water use it lasts maybe 2 months tops. The only way I can see it lasting 6 months is if we barely EVER used the kitchen sink. when it’s attached to a cold water line how do you NOT use cold water for everyday use like washing dishes. running dishwaterrequres the sued of some cold water. If there were an ability to shut the filter system off when not needed then I’d give a higher rating.

Filters are easy to replace, you don’t even have to turn water off. A freshly replaced filter has outstanding water low but for our family of 3 it decreases steadily and must be replaced after 2 to 3 months (advertised as a 6 month filter ). Filters are half the price of the GE system I replaced so changing filters twice as often is the same cost.
