lots of data I had in them that I lost

Having a backup drive provides peace-of-mind. Backups are fast. I love the rubber-tread armor over the metal case. It’s heavier than expected and I think it’s well-built.

I am using Glyph drives for the past 3 years. This year, I was surprised to see that there was a 12TB drive available. So far, all of the 3 drives that I have, including this one, have been working well. They do make noise (they’re not SSD), but it’s nothing to complain to about, as for the price+reliability they’re great. I know some people might have different opinions about using the drives, but Ike with every piece of computational equipment, one need to take care of it. Make sure to check for errors at least once every two weeks. And make sure to backup crucial files/projects. Going back to Glyph itself, it’s great to see this company produce good hard drives. I’m thinking about buying another 12TB, as of this writing the price is great.

Have a G Tech for my new iMac and needed to back it up due to the fact that the external is my primary hard drive for my computer. I needed to back up my main external and purchased this one. Connected the USB C to my iMac and wow. Copied and downloaded the files on my existing external and it was super fast. Might get a 2tb to back up the 4 and store it away from home just to be safe. Also love the BandH shipping. Ordered it on Wednesday and was at my door on Thursday.

These drives are great. We had to switch from another vendor and these work so well. Thank You Glyph Technologies and B&H.

I’m a huge fan of Glyph Technologies products. This will be my fifth hard drive I’ve gotten from them but this 12TB is the biggest! It will be nice to have ample space for my video files that are disk hogs.

Have a number of these and they’re always reliable and high-performance. They’re my go-to for critical back up as well as drives to work from.

I use this external drive to backup my 8TB MacBook. It takes some time to make backups, but I’m sure it would take much longer with a slower RPM drive. Seems dependable. I love the rubberized shock protection case.

I’ve never had a failure with Glyph. These just plug in and work…and they’re solid.

I paid more than 300 dollars in 2018 and used it infrequently for a little over a year, and suddenly, it dead on me for no reason. While it was alive, the performance was quite good. But now I am debating whether I should pay for the recovery of many hours of my work on the dead disk.

This harddrive works well and has a nice rubber jacket to keep it from taking direct bumps to the body. What can’t be beaten is Glyph’s customer support.

Well built, and works seamlessly as a network drive attached to my iMa

Pre-formated for Mac so it worked the minute i turned it on. Simple/easy. Good size for use with FCPX when traveling. Only wish the drive was slightly quieter. Note: While some Glyph units run off USB power alone, the 8TB I bought does requires being plugged into a 120V wall outlet. B&H was great as they have always been for the last 40 years I’ve purchased from them.

I needed a large drive to edit a project with a fair amount of footage. 8TB suited my needs. Though there are larger capacities available for this drive, the cost per GB gets steeper on the 10TB and 14TB versions. The 8TB version hits the sweet spot in terms of capacity and affordability. I also needed a drive fast enough to edit 4K 10-bit Prores 422 HQ. Read/Write speed averages 234MB/s. The case is rugged, and the rubber bumper is a nice touch. Its a tad heavy, and does make some noise, so it may not be suitable if you intend to record voice overs in the same room.

I have an 18TB @ 7200RPM that I bought here @ B&H last year. Flawless : this is my 2nd Glyph which the 1st is the 8TB @ 7200RPM from 6-8 yrs ago ~ No Complaints what-so-ever! Professional DJ since 1983 I know my Hard_Drives ~ I have 16 externals running on my MacOS I only use the Best from LaCie – Glyph – G.Tech – W.D. & believe it or not 2 older SeaGate’s over 15 years old. I’m in the process of buying another, cause my 18 is almost full.

I bought a few of these as backup drives. I think i bought four of them total. They have all failed – I have never encountered this problem in my life. they failed a month after purchase, when the box was already gone. The remaining one i had ejected constantly and now as of this week says it’s not working. lol. Tons of wasted money. Truly the worst BH purchase ive ever made

I have 8 of these discs, They are very reliable (most of times) but the 9th that I bought stopped working after a week. Ironically some of the other discs from Glyph I brought into the field and it was just fine, while the one that stopped working has been just sitting on my desk all the time. B&H customer service was just useless.

I use these for my immediate backups at the studio, then offload to slower, cheaper 8TB drives. The 7200 provides a good speed for a spinning drive.
