Description
The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

I wish that it works better with Google Wifi. I bought Google Wifi before I bought Nest Wifi. Nest Wifi should be the update version of Google Wifi. Therefore, I should be able to just unplug the Google Wifi and replace it with Nest Wifi and still be able to use both together without any problem as the security data should have already been stored on the Goodle cloud.Unfortunatley, it took a lot of works to get them to work together.

Our wifi has improved significantly since upgrading to two points mesh system. Incredibly easy to setup and customize settings. The only downside is the point frequently mishears the TV and will start talking when no one has said “hey google”. I did not have this issue with nest hub or the google home mini speakers.

The best WiFi was awesome when we first got it. We have 4 points and they cover our 4500sq ft home plus our barn. About 6 months after having them our internet would go out all of the time. We thought the problem was our modem so we got a new one. That did not fix the problem. We did a factory reset and that worked for a week and the the same issue started again. We found that 2 of our points were bad. So now we’re down to 2 and needing to replace them. Not cool for such an expensive system.

I would love to give this wifi router and extenders 5 stars but there are a couple draw backs.1st, there is no google function on the main router.2nd, it doesn’t allow VPN to be installed on the router3rd, some devices drop when transitioning between points.I switched to Google wifi when my old router was hacked and I haven’t had to worry with its built in security and notifications.I would definitely recommend this wifi router to anyone using a smart home system.

Very pleased with the Nest Wifi. We have a two-story home with a full finished basement, (3000 sq ft). It only takes the Nest Wifi and a Google Wifi on the top floor for fast, realiable coverage.

We purchased this as an upgrade from a Google WiFi mesh. I expected better throughput, coverage and cleaner streaming but am experiencing poorer coverage and connection drops. Our home is 2560 sf so the router and 2 points should be plenty, but the signals are much weaker. I did put one old Google WiFi point in with the Ethernet connected for the furthest point, and it helped. I think this “upgrade” was a waste of money and effort.

Nest wifi has little to no support but if you get support they pass the blame since getting this nest router i used to get and am supposed get 400mbps but in lucky if can get 100mbps. And thats if i dont need to reset because the all my devices cant find the network anymore. I use to have a TP-Link google router the thing was amazing and i had high hopes but its inly been frustrating

My Nest Wifi is finally working well so I recommend it for others, but the only setup available is through the Google Home app and the documentation is non-existent – most of the help came from the user forum. It’s proven impossible to get two people through the voice recognition process. For most commands, both of us can use the Point to play music or request information, but sometimes when my wife makes a request we get a verbal message that her voice is not recognized or she has to finish the setup. The problem is we don’t know where to do that. She has tried to use the Google Home app on her phone but we can’t find a place to do that. In addition, apparently the router doesn’t recognize voice commands but there is no list of features that mentions what you can do or not do.

The nest and google wifi pucks have gave me nothing but trouble. In the app is shows I’m getting 400mbps but if I go to speedtest I’m getting less than 100. I’m not an IT guy so the only reason I started investigating was because my computer and TV always buffer even if they are hardwired.

We live in a pretty small town and our internet options are very limited, we have little to no speed and constant buffering sometimes, especially when multiple people on the WiFi. However since using this router our speeds have been better, buffering is limited and it has made our lives much easier. We have two gaming consoles that are strictly online gaming, three students learning virtually, and lots of devices that normally big our connection, this has really helped tremendously. I also like that we can control the devices that are connected which helps us better limit screen time. The router is small, and isn’t an eyesore at all.

Going off-line way to often. Frustrating !!! Don’t know why it has trouble communicating with the points. Many times have to restart the network. A real hassle, but when it works I really like the features of music and improved range of wi-fi.
