The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

Me and my big ideas! I had Google Wifi throughout the house and through boredom decided to upgrade to this newer router after researching that it is backwards compatible with the old Google Wifi Points. Big mistake. First, none of the old points except one would connect. So I bought a new Nest Point. Now the two new units are connected with two old units with three more old units refusing to connect. And, the connection to the internet goes off and on at odd times. It isn’t the modem or the mesh (they still work); it has to be the router that keeps disconnecting. And, of course, phone help from Google is non-existent at the moment…

So far the router with the mesh point have been reliable.

I highly recommend this router to anyone who wants something easy to use and wonderfully integrated into Google’s ecosystem. Though this isn’t a flagship mesh router. It hits many of the better aspects you’d want from a top in class system. It supports bi-directional gigabit, fast / seamless handoffs between 2.4 GHz

I love Google product so I had to try the Google Nest WiFi router. I like the unique design of it. It’s not heavy. It’s smooth to touch. It’s small enough for easy shelf space. It’s also easy to connect to your internet modem. Once you get I to the App it’s also easy to understand and connect your devices to.

I only say that it’s the best because IT’S THE BEST WIFI available without a prescription.

Fantastic quality, very easy to setup, all my home office network issues are gone! I would highly recommend it!

These Nest points do provide decent coverage across the house, although their estimates are off as I ended up having to add an additional point to get adequate mesh coverage. Additionally I have to frequently reboot them as they seem to get hung up and lose comms with each other or crash.

Just moved into a much larger space (1,800 from 840 sq ft) and needed something to get wifi throughout the house. Purchased a refurbished Nest wifi. No extra points, just the hub. We now have blazing fast wifi throughout the house. Thanks!

I replaced my Nighthawk router with the Google Nest Mesh system. My internet works great now, and there’s no more internet issues (I was facing a number of dropped internet issues every day)! I have two complaints– 1. The pause function has some bugs. I once paused my work computer and then I couldn’t unpause it. I had to work with Google support, and we ended up having to do a factory restore. 2. You cannot block specific sites from a computer. It would be awesome to be able to block Roblox or other such sites when my kids are working on their homework. It would also be great to be able to block other sites (like adult sites) permanently.

I got a 2 pack right at the beginning of the pandemic as I was expecting more devices to be connected throughout the day. I thought it was going to be plenty for a 2000sq ft house and will fix the dead spots. Setup was quick enough and has basic controls in case you want to customize (e.g. I use opendns for site blocking, you can setup priority device for few hours but didn’t really notice much change while using it). The first issue I ran into was with devices which use 2.4 GHz only. These devices would not connect so I had to use workarounds like setting up a temporary tethering 2.4GHz network on a phone with same credentials. Many devices were not switching automatically between the two points when moving around the house. You would have to switch off wifi and switch it back on the device to connect to the closest point. I was better off just unplugging the second point and just use the router. Now the second pint has gone bad and goes offline every few days and needs restart.

Terrible product. Drops all the time. Doesn’t play nice with xfinity.

We’ve been with a certain internet company for years and the service was constantly down. After switching companies, and using the Nest router we are all set. Consistent & reliable internet throughout the house even in the dead spots we used to have in certain rooms. Love the mesh!

My experience with this device has been great, my ISP provided me with the Google wifi originally the AC1200 model, but I purchased my own router online (AC2200 version) for the cost of “renting” from the ISP for a year. I have had many wireless access point/ routers, and this is easily one of my favorites. The router is quick, it handles my 500Mb connection very nicely, and I don’t experience any issues while streaming. I appreciate that users can have multiple homes or profiles that can list each of the connected devices. The range on the device is really nice for it’s size. One of the things that does concern me is the sluggish software of the device. One of the features in the device is the ability to pause the internet being sent to a select device, many times the list won’t populate with devices for a number of minutes which is frustrating. Overall the device is really nice and I would purchase the device again if this one stopped functioning.

The only thing I can find any issue with is the lack of Wi-Fi 6 and tri-band. I’m sure the next iteration will answer these two shortcomings. If you have sub 500 Mbps internet then this router is perfect for you. It’s simple to install and set up and it just works reliably and continuously. Already recommended it to my elderly parents who set it up themselves with no issue.

I got this to replace my onhub router with 3 Google Wi-Fi mesh nodes. It was a little tricky to set up, but sure to needing to remove the old network in the home app before I could add the new hardware. Once set up, however, everything works together, and my internet is fast and stable. I like the family friendly features, and it is less obtrusive than any router I have ever seen. Makes me wonder if the primary function of the antenna on most new routers is to make them look like a cool spaceship

Nest Wifi has become incredibly unreliable. It disconnects and reconnects several times a day. I contacted Support. They patiently walked me through resetting. However, it did not do the trick and the problem persists. I now revert to my Internet provider Wifi when this happens. bummer! I paid so much for nest!

The Google Nest Wifi Router is a must. We got this about 1 month ago; teleworking and homeschooling has been a breeze with the added coverage. My home is approximately 3000 sq. ft. and this router covers my entire home. I can even sit in the driveway and receive services. No more dead spots and buffering in our home. I would definitely recommend the Google Nest Wifi Router for expanded coverage.

Bought the Nest Wi-Fi to increase the speed/performance on my (3)Nest outdoor cameras. But I have a new problem. Different cameras go offline randomly. Never had that problem with my Netgear. Go figure!
