The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

After one year of normal use, whole wifi coverage became unstable. I checked modem and checked feed quality from provider – no problems. Wifi point loose connection with base often. Running benchmark on wifi device shows issues. Is it hardware problem or recent updates? I’m not sure.Nest administration features are primitive. No way to tune parameters or even set custom restrictions. only positive about is, with the physical form factor it has, the coverage is not bad.

Honestly, the positives outweigh the negatives with this unit!! It Was easy installation, great coverage, comma an amazingly fast speeds. Only problem is every now and then the signal drops at the Wi-Fi points. Overall amazing unit.

After many many years attempting to obtain coverage throughout a large home, I finally have it. I had tried upgrading routers to the top of the line and adding numerous extenders without success. I originally thought that I would need three points but two do the job. Incredibly easy to set up too.

Our new house is mainly stucco, so the wifi isn’t great, unless your connected to the modem. Enter this little gem. Before gaming in the living room, was not a great experience, but once I connected the Google nest router the signal was so strong. This little pod packs a powerful punch. Easy to set up with my existing Google home products.If signal strength is an issue , highly recommend this as a solution.

Have had issues with router since day 1. I’ve called support and they’ve been nice enough but haven’t fixed my router or sent a new one. Hoping I got a defective one as an anomaly but be warned. Max I’ve been able to get is ~25 down.

There’s a lot to like about the Nest Wifi. Automatic speed tests. Easy to install and extend. “Good enough” configuration options.My problem is that it’s difficult to set up smart home devices with it. A sizeable number of devices, for better or worse, require you to be on the same 2.4GHz network during initial setup. Because you can’t force a connection to the 2.4GHz band on either a modern Android phone or through the router’s configuration, you’re left to do cumbersome workarounds. Google is aware of the situation, but they do not believe it needs to be addressed. Given that, I can’t recommend it. Imagine telling your elderly parents to go outside until their phone drops down to the 2.4GHz band to set up a device. Now imagine that you are Google, and you think this is a “simpler” and more appropriate solution than adding an option in Android or Google Nest Wifi.It’s a 5-star device diminished by a zealous and misguided approach to “simplicity” that completely misses the point.

I have a newer house, and its double wall construction with steel studs. my normal router (which was very new at the time of move in) could not push wifi through the house. decided on a mesh router and this was immediately my first choice. not a single regret with this purchase. The point doubling as a home assistant speaker is a great feature!
