The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

Great all around setup and performance. Easy to navigate in the Google Home App.

Very happy with my nest system I’ve added to it with multiple speakers and points everything I expected but more surprised at the set up was easier than I anticipated

Easy to set up, cheaper than renting a router from a provider, and provides better and faster coverage than the routers from the internet providers themselves.

Good coverage. Easy to set up. Good app to check mesh. Stable ( except for a couple of hiccups that were easily solved by resetting the router). Fast. Reliable. We replaced a competitive mesh system with Nest Google and we have been happy with the decision

Went from using a modem/router combo with a range extender to a Google mesh set up. Increased my speeds and gave me a strong connection throughout my house. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase

We have 2 mesh points in a 2900 sq’ home. Random devices, even those within feet of a mesh drop to less than 1Mbps. Google wifi support can’t solve it and the ISP says my signal is 800Mbps which the router confirms. It shouldn’t happen or someone should have a way to diagnose the issues

I didn’t realize how many devices I had connected until a few weeks before a lot more where going to be added. The all in one modem router I was using did an ok job at covering my home. But after installing the nest wifi I see what I was missing. At the furthest point from the router the speed test is faster than it was with the old device sometimes in the next room over. I’m confident that the new devices will work great on my neat wifi system.

This is my second Google nest, in addition to one I have in my downstairs living room. This one went to the upstairs loft area in order to extend Wifi to the rest of the second floor. I’ve noticed a remarkable improvement in speed and connectivity upstairs thanks to this little guy. It’s also very aesthetically pleasing and blends in well on my bookshelf! Super easy installation too.

Just a mediocre product. I wish it was better. The inability to adjust channels just kills it.

Ok…full disclosure. I worked at Google for 10yrs. I love Google products. I love Nest products. I started with the first Google Wifi system and then I bought a bigger house so I purchased Nest wifi with 2 additional points. I created a fairly complex network. Here’s the topology. FIOS modem to Nest Router to 48 port switch with 3 Google wifi connected to the switch. I also have 2 Nest points that are mesh connected to the Nest Router. I factory reset the entire network, also created a new Home. The problem was that the wifi network would entirely go down. However, anything that was plugged in via the switch maintained internet access. I spent months and 100s of hours trying to troubleshoot the issue, trying everything you can think of. Google/Nest support was great..and we think it’s due to a faulty Nest point. However, it could also be due to having 6 wifi or points…we just don’t know. When I removed 1 of the points, everything worked as intended. Love the system, hate how long

The devices were easy to setup through the app. I love that every smart device I have in my home is all in one place.

When it worked it worked great. Speaker, Assistant, Mesh. But it disconnected from the mesh every now and then for months. After about 2 years it now disconnects every week or more often. So I guess it needs to be replaced. Warranty was only for 1 year.

Initial installation was straightforward. Within a few weeks, the connection between the router and point was lost. Had to factory-reset the point and go thru the install again. Also had some difficulty in getting Pandora to link to the point. Finally, casting music from my iPhone via Bluetooth to the point only works intermittently – this is an ongoing problem for me (even re-pairing does not fix this). As far as basic internet connectivity, it’s been near perfect. Any loss of connectivity has invariably been due to my ISP or cable modem. A nice feature is that software upgrades are automatically downloaded and installed.

I had a perfectly good OnHub setup, but attempted the upgrade since Google is ending support support for older Wi-Fi systems. The Nest took me six hours to setup, even after following the app’s instructions precisely. It would never find and connect to the internet, even after resetting my supported Motorola Cable Modem. Also, setting up my existing Google Wi-Fi points to remake my mesh network was problematic, with the points taking multiple tries to be recognized. I wish Google had never messed with the Home app — and continued with the old WiFi app, that was very functional and reliable. The whole thing (app and hardware) has taken many steps backwards, in my opinion as a retired IT manager.

Didn’t help our problem of slow and spotty internet. Even when next to the pod had only 26mbps speed… forget about getting signal 30 feet away

So far, like Nest wifi. Very little involved with setup. Works across entire house upstairs, downstairs and outside.

I’m really enjoying this product, it works in a pair with a Motorola modem and Xfinity service. Everything works just fine, installed it 2 weeks ago.

The product is great. It replaces a Netgear router. I used to get frozen screens with my video calls. Not anymore. As a bonus, it works as a chime for my Google Nest doorbell. Shopping with B&H was great. Shipping was delayed due to back order. But the price was great.

So happy that I no longer receive the Zoom message letting me know that my internet is slow!

Router works well and it’s fast enough but the mesh connection between the router and the wifi point it came with is horrible. I can have the two in the same room and for some ridiculous reason they still disconnect. 1 star until Google fixes that.
