Description
The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

I purchased the new nest wifi and I have found that I am not getting anywhere close to the internet speeds that I should be getting. I have ATT and using the ATT router I am pulling down consistently close to the 1000 mbps that I am paying for (around 770-900 down and up) When I connect to the Nest wifi when I am right next to the router I’m pulling 200-300 mbps down and sometimes down to the 50-70 range. When I am upstairs leveraging one of the wifi points I am getting around 40-65 down and 20-70 upload speed. When I am in the same room upstairs but connecting to the ATT router/modem I am getting 770-900 mbps both up and down which is a significant increase compared to what I am getting on the nest wifi.As a huge google fan and supporter I am disappointed in the ability for the nest wifi to consistently maintain the network speeds.

I had 1 router and 4 points throughout a 5,000 sq ft home. It’s a smart home setup with 75 devices and gig speed. I consistently had dead spots and slow internet speeds. I have since upgraded to a WiFi 6 mesh system with far better results.

We have been on the WiFi journey with Google for some time. Our home was quick to adopt Google WiFi in 2016, but left for the greener pastures of other mesh products that next year. Still, we missed the simplicity and reliability of our Google network.We decided when Nest WiFi debuted, that the time was right to switch back. We’d struggled to support stable mesh wi-fi with competitors and with two of us working from home, and several kids doing school here as well, our kit from the other guys just wasn’t cutting it.Nest WiFi was plug-and-play. We got even better speed, coverage and consistency from it than our old network, we expanded our Google Assistant footprint as well!We liked it so much that when faced with an upgrade to the latest WiFi 6 mesh provided by work, we still opted to go back to Nest when it came time to deploy smart home tools and wanted the native Google Home experience consistently.You need to add WiFi6 and put ethernet back on nodes for wired bridge devices.

I received this WiFi router a few weeks ago and I have already noticed a difference compared to my other router. The extra boosted signal sped up the internet which helped with working from home and our devices have been faster. There has not been a lag in internet speed especially when streaming on the TV. It was an easy process to set up and took no time. It covers the entire house but I do like the ability to add point routers to increase the WiFi surface area of a home when we do upgrade to a bigger house. The parental feature is great with children in this day and age of technology. It helps to limit their screen time and I like to be able to look at it each week. I also like that you can use the voice feature to connect to other google smart products. It is a great high quality product that I enjoy using to upgrade the technology in my home.

Device is merely adequate, but has the potential to be great. Device currently lacks tools for measuring efficacy of WIFI Mesh Network. Owner should have capacity to determine best location for placement of access points. Nebulous current guideline of X points per Y square feet is useless. Allow owner to identify all devices connected to both access point and hub and identify best placement and quantity of access points required.

Wifi with Nest is much better than our standard router from the cable company. The Master Bedroom always lost internet after 10pm. That’s no longer an issue. We love the fact that the entire house now has internet 24/7.

I have a large first generation Google Wifi network at home. With several 1st gen Google Wifi hooked up to the main router via Ethernet, and two 1st gen Google Wifi operating in wireless mesh-mode. I used this (2nd gen) Google Nest Wifi Router and Point to extend my network, by hard-wiring the router to extend my existing network, and running the Point as a mesh extension. Works well together with my existing network and allows me to roam around the house with my devices.

My house is not that big, so with this WiFi router I get amazing speed anywhere in my house. I can be using three devices at the same time and the WiFi stays strong. Setting it up was easy and fast ( I must have spent about 20 minutes). It comes with Google assistant, music, and all of those nice little features. I’m really happy with how fast and reliable it is.
