The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

Speeds worse than Google Wifi pucks I was using. Not an upgrade but actually worse speeds. Very disappointed. Returned and Purchased other router and speeds are 4xs faster.

I got the Google Nest Wifi Routers and found that immediate set up was super simple. We previously were using the router provided by Spectrum, which we all know is not the best. The Google Nest has made a HUGE difference. I would highly recommend this and most likely going to buy another one for my parent’s house.

We are stuck with satellite wifi for a while. Could not even get emails to open most of the time. Once we got the nest mesh router and two points we are able to be on computers, phones, and stream at the same time.

It took us about 45 min to get the main router and the 3 hubs set up throughout the house. It’s so much faster than our old setup and faster even than my business WIFi (I’ll need to speak to my IT person about this). Three out of our 5 children work remotely and could use the system without any perceptible decrease in performance during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Works as advertised. Impressive speed and wifi coverage. I have a 3000 square foot, two story home and only needs a wifi router and one point.

It only works as a wifi point with a Nest router, not with a Google router. What’s with that? I feel like Google could have told me that before I bought it. Grr.

we bought the nest wifi with 2 points (and then added a third) b/c the layout of our house – two stories for some, single story for kitchen and mudroom – makes coverage tough. Our offices are second floor front and getting strong signal there almost always leads to weak signal in kitchen. the barn/shop/art studio is nearby and has metal roof siding and that makes getting good coverage there a hassle. but placing a point in a window of the studio which offers a nice sight line to the main router does the trick. we’re happy. we do like the ease of set up.

Best Mesh on the Download and no Meshing around with the Upload.

These are great devices, the look, the coverage…. Just missing wifi 6 and a web interface.

I like the light blue color. Fits my blue wall. Two devices cover 1800sqft(with multiple walls) easily.

Worked great for few months. Then stopped working. Called the support and spent more than 4 hours to troubleshoot and fix it. It started back again. But stopped working in a day. I had good respect for Google products. This Nest wifi changed it all. Nest wifi looks like trash to me now. Money spent on this piece was totally waste. Now I’m wondering how to properly recycle this piece of garbage.

I have a lot of smart home things set up in my house that I’ve been wanting to separate them into a different router from my work and other sensitive personal usage. This Google Nest WiFi router has been working very well and allowed me to separate all of my smart items to one router and work and other personal usage in another. The Google Router extended the WiFi pretty far. It’s actually further than my other router. Even though its range is far, the network isn’t as strong as the other router in close range. It’s always about one bar less. The upload speed is also much weaker (about half) than the other router. Download speed is about the same. Overall, I really like this extra router and would recommend.

Seems decent enough. It’s ridiculous that you cannot have multiple Nest or Google Wifi points with hard wired ethernet backhaul. I set up multiple units for a friend with a sprawling hacienda. The old Google WiFi units would work with wired backhaul in the old app. Tearing down and setting up the network (because the old app forces you to migrate to the new Google Home app), you can’t add multiple wired backhaul on the same mesh network for the old pucks and it’s a deprecated feature for the Nest pucks. I had to set up 2 networks at the place because that’s the only way to to have 1 wired connection. We tried everything to get decent throughput with just a single Mesh and all wireless backhauls. Easy enough to set up, and recommended if you know about the deprecated feature ahead of time, but not a pleasant surprise.

Nest WiFi was initially good but over time went downhill. Losing wifi in the next room over from a puck for minutes at a time was the last straw. Chucked it for TP-Link DECO, and no more lost wifi with the pucks in the same places.

It works great but stillSome of the nest camera outdoor gets disconnected often

Quick easy setup. So far works great seem less wifi. I tested my internet with Ethernet cord and I received the same speed with wifi.

Very much met my needs. Increased speeds 10 fold in bonus room across the house from router.

I’ve tried multiple types of routers and mesh points but nothing seemed to work with our house. We have metal roofs and what seems to be impenetrable walls but the google nest wifi system with 2 mesh points did the trick. I was really surprised but it works great. I love the app too, you are able to see traffic in real-time, block, prioritize and manage the network from at home and remotely. I don’t see me going back to anything else at my house.

Replaced my Apple AirPort Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme extender with the Nest Wifi Router Point. Was averaging about 2-3 “camera/door camera offline” alerts per week, many of which required a router and/or extender reboot. So far, have only experienced one and the camera came back online immediately by itself. And the connectivity/signal strength have been much improved. The setup was not as easy as the Apple system, mostly because of terminology confusion between Help and the app menu. Overall, very pleased so far.

Was easy to setup and I enjoy some of the features but when it comes to seeing up smart devices it can be a royal pain! Would be nice if you could manually change to 2.4hz to make things easier to setup on some smart devices. Also it would of been nice if you would of made the hubs work like the previous generation where you could plug in your cat 6 wires directly to it to make the connections fast in every area. But besides those two major things I’ve really enjoyed the product.
