The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

I updated from an on hub to the nest Wi-Fi no dropouts so far seems to be working well

One of the biggest reviews to impact my decision was someone that said, “I decided to leave a review because I haven’t even thought about my internet in the year since I purchased Google Wifi.” I thought that would be outstanding! It certainly has lived up to the claim! Be aware that your home may not have the wiring to the direct communications line to allow a stable 1000mb. Mine did not. Cat5e would allow me to get close but would periodically drop me to 90/90. I ran a new 75′ line of cat6e and presto! stable 900 /900 all day long! We are very happy! We have a lot of square feet and multiple levels but are able to provide every room and outside great connection! We have 4 units and 50 devices connected with no issues. Google even reached out to me one day saying they were going to replace my main router for free because the reports they were getting back said my router was failing and I would soon see major disruptions! Easy process and they did exactly that!

I had high expectations of this product. We are a gaming family and speeds have always been something I’ve tried to get the most out of. Having a high end Nighthawk, I was curious if we could improve even further on that. Enter the mesh wifi. With the goal of strengthening the signal throughout our home (1,600sqft) it did just thr opposite. After having everything set up correctly (I did this multiple times to ensure I wasn’t missing something) my Xbox in the master bedroom was only running 65mbps. Now that’s great don’t get me wrong, but I was previously running 300-400 on a slow day with the nighthawk. Signal improved, speeds drastically dropped. The other issue I’m guessing is from the “smart connect” where it decides of you should be on the 2.4 or 5 band. We would all at least once a day get dropped signal, kicked from our game, and then reconnect. Some days this happened multiple times in a few hours. Needless to say the complaints from not only me but the family rolled in.

I’ve only had the Google Nest WIFI running for a couple of weeks now, but it is working perfectly. Super easy to set up and love being able to check the signal and connection on the app. Super happy with the purchase.

I’m glad I bought the nest wifi system. Now I have coverage in my 2400 square foot home (basement, upstairs and even on my deck!). I would recommend this!

Cannot get one of the nests to work. Have tried many things as listed online with no success.

Was easy to setup and works really well and provides great coverage across the entire home. Also the integration with Google assistant is a great perk to get along with the mesh network.

Make sure you don’t have two accounts to log into Nest. I had two and had the router and one Point on one account, and the other Point on another account and they didn’t “talk”. Support helped me figure it out and they were great. Now I have wifi all over my house and I love that you don’t have to switch between “hubs”, it’s just automatic.

Product just would not set up. Difficult to set up compared to Nest WiFi (older version) where it was plug and play. Had to try multiple times to set up over a course of a day. Followed the wizard that takes you through the steps of the set up each time. What finally worked was to wait a minute or two in between steps, even though the wizard asks you to hit “next”. Also surprised that the mesh coverage with the wifi points in the exact location as my old Nest wifi was not an improvement. I really shouldn’t have spent the money.

The Nest WiFi is amazingly good for the technology it uses. However, I am looking forward to a WiFi 6 or later version of the Nest system.I love the Google Home integration. I use it extensively and couldn’t live without it anymore.Installation was easy although I did have to use Google tech services. The tech was very good. The system has been very stable and reliable. I need WiFi in a garage apartment. The Nest system’s performance in this area is marginal. I know that is due to home construction – concrete block and plaster walls. I’m frequently tempted to try a competitors more powerful WiFi 6 system but always decide to wait on a next generation Nest WiFi. So please don’t wait too long.

I needed to extend the range of my WIFI across a large, 2-story home. A mesh of 3 Nest units are doing the job with an easy installation via Google Home.

If you don’t have a C wire (aka common wire) this product is unlikely to work. Many people in my building that has a heat pump and cooling tower have been unable to make the nest thermostats work.

The Nest Wifi has been a wonderful experience. Fast and easy. Exactly what you’d hope for, and we’ll integrated into the Google Home app.

For years my wife and I used a single Apple Extreme for WiFi in our house, which has two floors and a basement, but signal strength and speeds suffered in the rooms farthest away from the router. Finally decided to upgrade to a mesh system and picked Google Nest because of positive reviews and easy setup. In fact, I finished the setup in 30-40 minutes without any hiccups. Every room in the house now has consistent speeds despite doors and walls. The only criticisms I have – and these are small (which is why I’m giving 5 stars) – are that the router only has one spare ethernet jack and the points don’t have ethernet jacks at all. I don’t need ethernet on the points, but I imagine some people might like. Anyway, it’s a great system.

We were having trouble with our previous router and decided to try this one instead, and it’s been wonderful! It combined both of our wifi signals into one making it easier to keep everything on the same page, we’ve been getting well over the speeds we currently pay for, and each unit also acts as a Google speaker which we absolutely love. Plus, with the wifi working so much better, all of the smart devices work so much faster! For example, on our old router, I would ask Google to do something (pick a number, turn off the lights, set a timer, etc) and not only would it load forever, but it would often just fail outright. Now my requests are filled almost instantaneously!

The Nest Wifi is a very good product. You don’t have many problems with wifi connection. What I think needs improving is the mesh portion of Nest Wifi. I know that walls and other item may affect the signal but I have a few around my house which I don’t think is very big house. If I do a mesh test it still say that they have weak signals. They are not close but not far away from each either. So my question is how close does the routers and access points need to be? But overall this is a very good router and very easy to setup.
