The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

Very nice looking product, easy to set up, reliable connection all the time. It gives me full bandwidth 225mbps. I get 225mbps with a direct connection from modem also. The point has a speaker, you can use it as a google mini, nice addition over generation 1. Problem: —————— 1. Only the router is not enough for my 2-bed room apartment (1200 sqft). I installed it in the living room, and one of the rooms is getting 30mbps only. But with the point, all the rooms are now covered. 2. The point has no outgoing port unlike generation 1. 3. The router has no speaker, only the point has.

The mesh point keeps dropping offline and has struggled to keep a good connection with the router and I feel I have it as close to the router as makes sense to have another access point. I have had to reboot and restart it multiple times. When running it is great and provides access to the areas I was not getting a good connection before. Mesh is nice not having to manually toggle between access points. Still need to take advantage of the network control features.

I had google wifi. Added nest into the mix and just nothing but troubles. Have to reboot network daily. Have router and 4 hotspots for 2800 sq ft house. Read reddit and many users leaving due to numerous issues. Google responds but no fixes. We are thinking software related. Hate having to move to google home. Terrible compared to previous application. Needs to be fixed.

The WiFi points worked great initially but after some months they consistently drop off and are not recognized by the network or the Hey Google function is not working. So I have re-set them up on the network. Very disappointed.

The Google Nest WiFi system drastically improved my online experience at home. I have a router and four points which may be an overkill, but I’m extremely happy with the performance and consistency. The only issue that I’ve found is that sometimes devices operating on the 2.4GHz band tend to drop. This is especially true for my light switches which are made by Brilliant. The switches and my garage door opener are 2.4 GHz and sometimes lose connection. The devices connected to the 5.0GHz band don’t seem to be affected.

We’ve had this mesh set up (main router and three wifi points) for about 1.5 years now and it’s pretty much eliminated any dead spots from our second level down to our basement. The points’ speakers work great in unison with our Google Home for whole house music. The points’ added bonus of being able to link with Google Home commands makes things easy and convenient for our current smart home set up. Our only small gripe is that wifi 6 was already gaining momentum and while other mesh networks offered it (e.g. Eero, Netgear, Tp-Link etc.) along with a prevalence of tri band, Google only offers dual band for its Nest wifi. This could be a factor for those in the market looking for wifi mesh which are in lock step with rapidly evolving advancement and expansion of bandwidth, speed and wifi security. The Nest wifi is still a good mesh option for families and those who prefer to keep things simple via a dual band wifi network.

I have a Nest Security System installed with Nest Mini speakers and two nest Hubs, so going with the Nest Mesh Wifi System was a no-brainer. It gets consistently good (but not great) reviews, but it’s expensive compared other high-rated products. The installation was very straight forward. The only problem I ran into is where to place the 4 Mesh appliances in my relatively big 2-story home. It took a bit of adjustment to get the mesh network to register as a “great connection”.Each of the mesh devices has a built-in speaker with Google Assistant. if I had purchased these first, I wouldn’t have needed to buy so many Nest Mini Speakers. I’ve removed the speakers in the rooms with the Mesh devices, so as not to have redundant speakers. Of course, you have the ability to turn off a speaker.I have several wifi-enabled devices outside my home (some requiring 2.4 GHz wifi connections) and all were able to connect to the new network without a problem. For me, this setup works great!

Easy to set up so that was AWESOME! I’m ridiculously bad at all things tech, so that was a relief. There was a room in the house where the general WiFi never reached, but finally did after setting up the Google WiFi router. Speed on other devices improved as well. Definitely recommend

Setup was super easy. Your plug it in to power and Ethernet, download the google home app, and it walks you right through it all. It uses your phone to scan a QRcode on the bottom to set everything up, all you do is name it and give a password.Looks a lot nicer than most other routers. Very sleek and could definitely have on a counter or on a shelf out in the open. Our other router couldn’t handle all the smart home connections and devices on at the same time, and this is already showing a remarkable difference in our network performance. Loving this so far!

After suffering for years with weak wifi signals, repeaters that didn’t work as advertised, and repeated need to unplug and reset everything, I bought this based upon on-line reviews. Installation was very easy. I now have the strongest wifi speeds I’ve ever experienced. The signal is seamless, and I have not needed to reset yet.Great product!! I wish I had purchased it a long time ago!

I think it would work better to just have one powerful router. These things are all over the house. Sound quality isn’t very good otherwise I can give it a couple more stars If I could use it as a sound system

This is amazing hooked it up and the setup was super easy now I tested it and it does work as we weren’t getting wifi in half of our house and now we are getting it in the whole house now so this definitely works. I like how I can turn devices off.

I have a 2 story home and the main router is on the bottom floor tucked away in the study room. We use internet and cast to our tv as well as bedroom devices. I love google devices and this device is no exception. Super easy to set up, small and portable enough to not take up space. The WiFi range of this tiny device is amazing as well. Love it!! Worth the price!
