The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

I have only had it in place for a couple of weeks and it seems to be strong. A little miffed that you can’t run the system in bridge mode with mesh coverage. I think this is short-sighted. I would like this to be a wireless extension of my wired network. I had a Deco from TP-Link that could but then again it seems to die annually. After my second time at the rodeo I have had enough. The connectivity is good though.

Looks great. Set up was smooth. Easy to see if devices are connected to 2.4 or 5 butDevices restricted to 2.4 are harder to connect but eventually do. Google Home app is powerful but mastering it will take some time.

Upgraded my Google Wifi to the newer Nest wifi. Found out that you have to basically start over rather than plug and play if using the Nest router. Then factory reset the old devices to reuse them. Even reusing the wifi name hasn’t made connecting some items work.

What an amazing mesh network this is! Was able to install quite effortlessly with the assistance of a number of YouTube videos on the subject. Extremely helpful. I purchased Nest router and point to add/upgrade my existing Google WiFi system (3 pucks). I had everything set up already in my “Home” app, speakers, chromecasts, displays, thermostat, doorbell, not to mention all the phones, tablets and chromebooks. Since Google shut down the old WiFi app, it must be set up in the “Home” app, whoever designed the app did not have the consumer in mind by not importing the best, easy parts of adding devices in the old app. The experience was horrible!I had to factory reset every device, delete the existing home and readd into a NEW Home. I should think a “Mesh” system would extend the system from one point to another to extend a system, this doesn’t, all points need to connect to the router. Be aware of the router placement.And a question, why add a speaker to the point but not the router???

I used this product to replace a Netgear Nighthawk that was the main router which I used to DHCP the wired stuff in my office, which I had a Google WiFi 3-pack Mesh attached to that provided WiFi. Not being a “networking person” I didn’t realize it would make the wired and wireless units not visible to each other. So I replaced the Nighthawk with this upgraded Nest pair and meshed all 5 units. But before I “joined” the original Google WiFi units to this NEST mesh, I did a bunch of testing and I was blown away by the speed of these WiFi units. I have 100Mbps Cable Internet with 10Mbps upload. Using my cell phone and the built in speed test in the Google Home app, I constantly got 110Mbps down and around 10.5-11Mbps upload everywhere in the house. The tough spots were out in the garage, the driveway, and backyard, so I added the other 3 older Google WiFi units and now I have wireless that I believe is comparable to being wired. There are a few wired devices in my son’s room which are now using the older Google WiFi unit and they’re all just as fast as the wireless units. We used to use a Powerline adapter with a switch for his wired stuff and the speed was terrible. That’s no longer the case with this router and the mesh. The best thing about this product is that it’s Google Home Aware, so if you’re “hey google” and not “alexa” it’s a great choice. Plus the bonus with the WiFi Point is the built in speaker and Google Assistant. We replaced a tablet and bluetooth speaker with the Point in our kitchen and the sound is amazing. It’s not designed to “crank up the volume” but if you want some background music in your home then this thing will satisfy for sure. All in all, I couldn’t be happier with it. I took the Netgear Nighthawk out of service and now it’s Google WiFi all the way

Fantastic coverage.I have 3 wired devices — main router in basement and 1 at each end of the house.The only issue is that it doesn’t seem to be error-correcting.Occasionally the modem port or the router port seems to flood and I have to disconnect the Ethernet between the modem and the router and/or reboot both devices.Happens about every week and a half.Both show “good”.Wish there was more error correction

Great at first, but constantly has issues with keeping speeds high. Constantly drops the mesh point connection. No smart way to tell the system what point to pick up, and no way to tell the system what devices you want on 5g and what you want on 2.4g

I had to turn off wifi on my phone just so this review would load. It’s about 50/50 whether the internet is cooperating. Cellular shouldn’t be faster and better connection than whole home mesh wifi. I’ve had trouble with the cloud connection, trouble viewing and controlling ethernet connected computers, but sometimes it works great. They should spend less time trying to listen to me over the kitchen hub mic and more time testing and upgrading networking software.

My husband is the tech wizard on this, but I can always tell sometimes he gets flustered with different products. Not at all on this one. He said that set up was super easy, setting up the software was incredibly easy, and just everything about this has been fantastic. We have our wifi and a guest wifi account set up and it has been easy connecting between the two. We have also had ZERO internet dropouts since we have been using this, as compared to regular drop outs by our previous wifi router. My husband was a little nervous connecting it up in the house (you know, people listening in on you and what not), but we decided to keep using it and keep it plugged in. It is also connected to other home systems and so far we have had zero issues. Great product!

Nest Wifi has transferred the performance of my wifi across my house. Especially with the internet on the third floor (as my router is on the first). I have 2 points and the router and now the internet is reliable in all areas of the house with no more dead zones and increased speeds in upstairs areas of my home.The Google Home control and access of my device is also great as well. If you use google home to integrate your house wifi there is no reason not to buy this product.

I purchased the package that includes one Wifi Router and two Wifi mesh speakers/access points. The coverage on my 1.5 acre property is excellent and the performance is also great. Handoff between APs as I’m moving from room to room, or building to building is seamless.I think, like many things with Google, the web admin capabilities are highly limited. They’re fine for the non-technical user who trusts Google to make things work, but for those who like a bit more insight and granular control, you may be left wanting.
