Description
The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

This is a cool space age looking router that is super easy to set up. Download the google home app on my iPhone and it walked me through the rest. The hassle came with attempting to bypass my old ISP provided router. The router was old so there was very little on the web about how to set up the bypass. I managed to Piece together how to make it work. It also works with my mesh network that’s from another manufacturer.

Maybe I do not understand what the purpose of the wifi nest is but can not tell any difference in our internet since we have the nest. Not impressed…..seems it was a waste of money for us!

Good coverage throughout the 3 story house. Periodically loses connection to the internet (wifi remains up). Running a speed test restores the connection. Another wifi router off the same internet feed does not lose its connection.

I really like those system and I’m glad google refreshed it. I’m very deep into the google ecosystem so this gotta perfectly. I’m super happy with the coverage, I have 500/500Mbps speed and with this system I get all of that everywhere in my home, even in my backyard. I like the functionality of this but I really wish there was a more advanced mode to allow for some more advanced features like mac filtering and setting up more then the two ssid’s, maybe even a VPN. That’s the only reason I gave four stars.

I didn’t want to upgrade from google wifi to nest wifi yet but there was something majorly wrong with my old router. Nest wifi is a google home speaker built into a router to make it look less ugly and more convenient. I haven’t seen any advantages of the nest wifi over google wifi yet though I think nest wifi supports wifi 6 which is better for dozens of connected devices. The range is better as well than google wifi
