The Google Nest Wifi Router supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and is more powerful than its predecessor, Google Wifi, delivering up to two times the speed and up to 25 percent better coverage. The Nest Wifi point allows for whole-home coverage and the system is scalable, allowing you to add more points in the future. The Nest Wifi system can handle multiple 4K video streams at the same time. The Nest Wifi system also supports proactive band steering, a self-healing network, and transmit beamforming. The router features the Snow color.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 square feet and supports 4×4 MU-MIMO. The router also has dual Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jacks.
Google built the Nest Wifi system to provide the foundation for your future smart-home devices. It has local home connectivity, allowing some devices to connect directly to the system without a hub. Use the Google Home app for a simple setup and controls.

The Nests were easy to set up–once I had the right products. I ordered a set of two, and was sent–in a single wrapped bundle–two bases and no extensions. Theoretically this could still work, but I couldn’t manage to get one of the units to work no matter what. I bought another unit to supplement, and ended up sending the whole works back and ordering again. The second time (or second-and-a-half) it all worked out much better. Now everything’s peachy!

My home internet comes into the house on one end (the den). My previous router/wifi just couldn’t get a strong signal to the other end of the house reliably. With Nest WiFi, I can put the main router in the den, and one point in the living room (midway the house), and now our entire property is covered. I get a strong signal even at the far corner of the back yard, a long way from the main router. This was the perfect solution. It is also so easy to set up and maintain.

Solid product with nice packaging. It is attractive while also being unobtrusive. The WiFi coverage is great. The feature set gives enough options to cover most use cases.I did have a little trouble getting my new nest router setup. It would get nearly to the end, then error with, “something went wrong”. The help desk had me disable my mobile data and everything worked fine. 1,000 for the support service!

To start with, setting up the Nest Wi-Fi Router and access point was not easy. It took over 10 factory resets just to get through the installation. Most often I would get to the end of it, finalizing the access point and testing the mesh which it said was great, then immediately it would lose connection and the offered trouble shooting steps did not work. – Factory reset. The next issue is the lack of a separate 2.4ghz band. Apparently Google in it’s wisdom thinks we don’t need one, or at least all the other smart devices that people own which are specifically on 2.4ghz don’t matter.Because every other device I own, whether it’s a smart bulb or plug, does not see the Google Nest wifi. These are devices bought within the last few years, and the best solution is to plug in my old router into the Ethernet port of the Google Nest router. That way I use the 2.4ghz from the old router for the smart devices, and Google Nest provides the 5ghz. Seems like a major misstep from Google.

Simply put this is my first mesh network. It works flawlessly, super easy setup. Speeds literally doubled compared to the FiOS wireless router we had. Great coverage going out to the backyard which was the main reason I invested in this. I had some issues where my nest hub maxes and nest audios would become unsynced while playing music which was fixed. And lastly the ease of access to the information such as devices, connectivity, speeds for each device, etc. Great investment!

With my husband working from home (since March of this year) he is constantly using the internet. He is the supervisor for his department, so it is imperative that he keeps good internet connection at all times. With virtual conference calls, video meetings, emails and then his constant work online, it he can not lose connection. Since adding this router into our home, he not only never gets kicked off online but he also says the internet speed has increased. I too have noticed a difference between using the WiFi on my cell phone to streaming apps to our tv. This is something all “smart homes” must contain! I highly recommend! Doesn’t connect properly. I can’t scan code when setting up. The two nests don’t mesh. I have 2 and can only get one to connect. Very annoying.

The speed on this is great. Faster then my Google wifi router. Love the backwards compatibility with Google wifi and to be able to use Google wifi as points. Something I would have liked is to have the Nest Wifi Router also funtion as a Google speaker with Google assistant. The setup was easy. The product has been functioning as it should.
