The installation and configuration of Google Wifi was as easy as it gets and the WiFi works great all over our house and out on the patio. Five stars.

The only negative comment I have after a few years using both generation of Google’s Wifi points is really more a commentary on 3rd party services than it is Google. The inability to configure the 2.4 and 5ghz networks with separate SSID can be challenging with certain smart home devices which only do 2.4. Other than that, fantastic product.

Google Wifi was rock solid, and upgraded for better distance. But have had multiple experts over to fix poor connection, dropped signals, poor sync, and tried many different configurations/distances/resets. Do not recommend…and I have a pixel, and other google products.

Over the last several days when trying to stream Apple TV i have to reset(reboot) several times to watch a 1 hour show on Apple TV. Very disappointed!

One of the two routers worked fine, one doesn’t work at all.

The wifi works great but sometimes when lightning strikes the wifi won’t work

I really like the mesh and setup of the network – fairly straight forward. Some areas where Google Wifi should be improved:1. Decouple the requirement to have outside connection to the internet – it is incredibly frustrating to diagnose internet problems (e.g. DNS, ISP vs Google Wifi, etc) when a connection to the Google cloud is required to diagnose an intranet problem. 2. Provide consistent WiFi network experience even if the internet connection goes down. Where I live occasionally there are power outages that knock out the ISP service, but because I have a generator I can still power my intranet. It would be great if Google Wifi remained functional as an intranet service without an outside connection to the internet – currently it is painful to do anything without an outside connection to the internet.

Very easy setup and great coverage. Was able to turn off my modem wifi and this is more stable.

Have a hub 2 remote satellites in a large house and the WiFi coverage and speed are great – BUT! We recently lost power and the system went back to factory settings. You can NOT get the satellites online using iOS 15.x on an iPhone — Just does not work. I Googled and tried all workarounds that were suggested. Eventually, I used an Android device and had it going in a couple of minutes. The subnet number also changed from .82.xx to .86.xx which messed with my static IPs. Very frustrating!

I was thrilled with the ease of set up and performance after I first installed. I am a veteran of many wi-fi routers and this was by far the best experience. The app is brilliant.I am currently having inexplicable issues with some of the access points and every time I use the app it prompts me to change to the new Google Home app, actually making it difficult to just do what I wanted to do. So I’ve gone from happy (would and have recommended) to irritated.

Set up was simple using the Google Home app, coverage is fantastic. The only downside is the limited number of wired ports but I already had a switch, so maintaining the existing wired network setup was easy for me. Compared to other mesh solutions the Google Wi-Fi has better wired network options with 2 ports on each node. The unit used as the base uses one of the two for a connection to the modem.

Our google mesh WiFi has been a very good experience. It has provided us great WiFi throughout a good size two story house. I have 3 of the devices.I’m not super technical, but was able to set it up via the easy to use app etc on my own.I have nothing negative to say, only positive, and would recommend it/ buy it again.Hope that is helpful to others.

I have intermittent connections. We can’t seem to identify root cause. I will say that Google has the best customer support. This is why I give 4 stars instead of 3. I need much better performance to give a 5 star review.

No issues for past few weeks I’ve had it. Super convenient

Before I upgraded to Nest WiFi, this was my main router for my cable internet. I had a pretty good 5Ghz router before this one, but I could tell this one was much more stable, even if not much faster. I’m still trying to figure out how I can set this up standalone (and not part of a mesh network), alongside with my Nest WiFi Router (I hear this is the default, but whenever I add it to Google Home, it creates one big mesh network instead of two smaller networks — which I can understand since that’s probably how most people would use it, and how they probably think about their network anyway — as one network, regardless of number of routers).

Very spotty service. I use three Nest wifi devices in the mesh to run my smart home. The devices royally fail at managing my devices. There are times when one TV is unable to connect, but another is ok. Then there are times when nothing connects, video doorbell disconnects etc. Just royally failing and becoming a pain to have to constantly reset the devices/network.

We’ve had issues with our Wifi not reaching some areas of our house. After installing Google Wifi, those areas now receive connection! The setup was super easy and I got it working within minutes. I’d love to buy a second one to add upstairs, so the entire house is covered!

The best router I’ve had so far! First off – has a sleek minimalistic design with a LED strip on the front that changes color depending on connection status. I really love the cylindrical shape with the flat top over the newer NEST router which have rounded edges. You can control the intensity of the LED or completely turn it off for convenience. The router is easy to setup, easy to manage and all options are available through the app, which is actually amazing, though if you don’t want to use you phone – you’re out of luck. Also if you have a large house/ space you can combine 3 of them in a mesh system to get good signal everywhere. The app offers great tools to manage, test and monitor your internet connection and network – like daily speed tests, per device stats, priority mode, family mode, etc.. the router comes with one Ethernet port if you want to connect your computer via cable. Had a great experience using this router for over 3 years.
