Google Wifi was surprising better than I expected. It has great signal strength, the Google Home app is intuitive to use, and I had no problems using my own custom DNS settings. I highly recommend.

The Google wifi Mesh network was easy to set up and install with my Google home application. It extends wifi with a solid signal throughout the house whether upstairs or in the basement there is a strong signal. The router is placed in the closet and the 2 additional hubs are placed anywhere we’d like in the house. It covers about 3,100 square feet. It’s also reasonably priced in a competitive market.

If it has to be limited to Wi-Fi 5, I wish the signal was strong enough that two nest routers, a point and a google Wi-Fi as AP would cover my entire house. Sadly the signal seams just as good as my cable router and one google Wi-Fi router.

The previous generation Google WiFi has been very reliable over the years since its release. I especially like the ethernet ports, which were dropped from the Nest version.

Got the 3 pack, covered my house perfectly but the double NAT (address translation) between my ISP’s router and the Google WiFi played havoc with both my Linux server and spouse’s game hosting. Could have tried it in access point mode but that restricts it to only one of the three devices which means I’d be wasting 2/3 of what I paid for.Great if you’re not hosting an online game to play with a friend or a home server. Had to return it.

I own a 94 year old 6,000 sf brick fortress of a home which heretofore had been impenetrable by waves of nearly any kind. Google mesh WiFi changed that. Now, I have lightning fast upload and download speeds everywhere in the house. Thanks Google.

Supposed to be getting around 1 g on my service but the Google mesh regulates it way below what I need

Got this as a Christmas present to replace an existing router/extender. The setup was extremely easy, the only issue was having to keep the old router for existing cameras. The coverage is excellent and the signal is strong.
Winona Hintz (verified owner) –
It’s not a bad mesh network, but I’m not finding it to be very reliable. I have them spaced out accordingly, setup properly, and tested extensively, yet the signal is meh.

I’ve been extremely impressed with the coverage these devices provide throughout my house, I’ve had a lot of good luck getting everything to link up and cooperate throughout the house, and they can handle a large amount of devices, which is impressive considering as a computer enthusiast I have a lot of IoT devices, PCs, and laptops all connecting to these wirelessly. They run pretty impressively even if the relay nodes aren’t directly connected to ethernet, the amount of latency added by multiple hops is pretty minimal. I’ve been able to setup switches for PCs in other rooms connected to a relay node, which has been a tremendous help in gaming, as sometimes the wireless cards I have aren’t good enough to handle the low latency needed to have a competitive edge. The phone app also has enough advanced features to deal with most nominal cases people may need (port-forwarding, etc). Definitely recommend these.

Works for me and more reliable than what I had before

Great product and support. Easy to use, intuitive, and works really well. I’m very pleased with it and have been using it for a few years now.

I have 3 points which for me created a problem. When adding smart plugs and lights I couldn’t get the 2.4 band. I believe the info on the Nest system is that it automatically selects the correct band. Doesn’t really work like that. My 3 points were to strong. Had to disconnect 2 points and hide on the floor behind a lazy boy chair to get a weak enough single so the 2.4 band was usable and I could set up smart devices. Going forward I would purchase a system that allows me to pick the band.

Google WiFi mesh works wonders for my home – consistently fast internet
Julius Johnson (verified owner) –
Basically this new mesh network set up pretty easily – I don’t know why ALL of the directions must be on line for some products – especially routers – some simple written directions would be appreciated. All in all this system works a little better then my Orbi that it replaced though the signal strength doesn’t carry as far as it did with the Orbi.

We got 4 inside de house and on outside and no more problems with lack of WiFi. Highly Recommend.

First of all, Google…. just the best at what they do – love it or hate it it’s a fact. The product themselves physically are very appealing and fit in any home/business – including mounts to bracket out of sight. Set up – incredibly simple; Controls from Google Home App…Performance – fantastic and support/technical upgrades are automatic through the app.Why would you try something else when google offers this?
Mariela Langworth (verified owner) –
Google WiFi is amazing! It is incredibly fast and reliable internet at an affordable price.

I got Google WiFi as a Christmas present. Was eager to install it as my previous WiFi is spotty and the speeds vary depending on the location in my home.Google WiFi has solved this problem. It is fast and coverage on all levels of the house is great. The installation instructions are poor and need refinement. However, the Tech support was great and the Google Tech got me up and running in 30 minutes. So far, the WiFi has been fast and reliable.
