Google products in my opinion are top of the line … Had a little bit of trouble setting up the network but it got resolved within a few days after reading the setup.. This is the Google wifi. Also have the phone if you get the PIXEL you will not be disappointed so many different features with the phone .. Taking pictures identifying things … Taking a picture to copy text with Google Lense ..

Service is spotty in my living room which is on the same floor as the nest. I won’t even mention the other floors in my home.

I didn’t know how bad my WiFi was lagging until I started using the Google WiFi. I already had good WiFi but now it’s lightening fast. This is a great way to give your WiFi a boost. I haven’t had any buffering on devices since we set this up.

The only way to debug this router and its connectivity is to connect to it via WiFi which is impossible when the wifi network is down. On previous routers I can plug in a computer and login locally this is a feature that is essential. I would reccomend leaving this router out of your network environment.

I have no complaints or issues. I love it! Highly recommended.

The main reason I wanted to try this router was to ensure I could work from a different room than where my modem is. My internet is too weak to work from my office, but this router advertises a square footage that should have covered that distance. It did not however. The download speed is the same in both areas, but upload speed was significantly weaker when got a bit farther from it. I found the square footages listed as inaccurate for my needs.

I love my Google mesh network. I wish I could turn off the 5 GHz network so I could connect 2.4 GHz smart devices easily. The mesh network handles my 91 devices in my house very well.

The Google Wifi unit is well packaged, looks good, and very simple to setup. The total time to setup the unit from unpacking to a functional network took all of five minutes. As an IT professional, the last thing I want to do at home is deal with complicated network setup and configuration. Upon plugging in the Wifi puck, open the Google Home App and scan the barcode. The Google Home App will walk you through some privacy options that you can opt out of. Beyond that, you will set your SSID and password. A couple updates later and you are up and running. If you are like me, I kept my network settings the same from a previous router and most devices automatically reconnected. On the home app you have visibility into what is connected on your network and real time stats of each device (as well as family scheduling options). There are plenty of speed test options in the application as well. From the settings in the Google Home App, you will have the ability to set custom DNS, adjust basic LAN settings, change from NAT to Bridge mode, port forwarding, Guest wifi options, UPnP, set WPA3 (WPA2 is setup by default). This covers most of the advanced configuration options the majority of users would ever need. Unfortunately, there isn’t a web based management option. This would be nice to have to configure the advanced options instead of via the app. The unit comes with two ethernet ports. One for the WAN and one for LAN. If you have a lot of devices to connect you will need a switch. Overall, the ease of setup is by far the best experience I have ever had with a home router. The coverage is great with one unit in a single story 1700 sq ft house. The option to expand and add additional pucks in the future is nice to have. This is a great entry level mesh system. As for advanced configuration options, there is a lot to be desired there.

I had bought one after a month of researching wifi routers. I wanted something sleek, fast, and minimal. Google read my mind when designing this product! I now own six of these, that’s how much I love them. They’re easy to manage from the Google Home app, the mesh is very effective, I love being able to connect to Ethernet from wherever in the house, and they are relatively inexpensive.

Great mesh network never have I had any issues besides the ISP. Have 3 of them and everything I own has an amazing fast connection. I would definitely recommend for the current price.

Exactly what I expected from Google. It works. Simply, beautifully, and perfectly.

I’ve used my Google Wifi in the mesh configuration for over a year now without any issues. I currently have 127 devices connected at my home and all stay connected with no issues. I can’t wait until Google Fiber is offered in my area, as I will switch my ISP as soon as I can due to the incredible customer service I have received in my past years from Google support.

I don’t see an improvement in speed, but I do in accessibiility.
Garett Cole (verified owner) –
Works great, has lots of controls/features that are easily accessible in the Google WiFi app….Oops, that app went away…now it’s all buried in the Google Home app….not as convenient.
Otilia Schaefer (verified owner) –
Seems to disconnect quite a bit. Not sure yet if it’s the cable internet or the device
Katarina Will (verified owner) –
Very simple installation. Took me maybe 5 minutes if that to install.
April Nicolas (verified owner) –
Great communications and fast install. They even ran the cable underground. The installer went out of his way to assure I was happy with the installation on my home. The only disappointment I had was to find out my current computer equipment will need an upgrade to take full advantage of the lighting fast scorching speeds fiber delivers. With the mesh system my many smart tv’s and nest doorbell and thermostat now have a much stronger signal and I’m even considering adding full wireless wifi cams on the house since the signal is steady and strong.I’m getting a throughput of about 150mbs on my older equipment. I also use a VPN and it drops considerably but I still get a steady 50-60mbs which is much more steady and stronger than the local cable “cast” company provided.Overall I’m very happy so far and can’t wait to upgrade my system for the fastest lighting downloads of movies. The small extra cost over standard cable in my opinion was worth it.So go get Google Eyed yourself….

I have 5 wifi points plus a base unit and they work perfectly. ATT wifi is high speed and it works well with Google. It does take a little know how to get a couple of points on line at times. Google support is almost as good as Apples. The setup instruction are easy to fully and Google is easy to work with. The support people working from home are wonderful. My only suggestion is for a real person to answer the call and transfer your call to the expert. If Google would implement that process, it would put them right up there with Apple.
