Google WIFI for the win! Our house is weirdly shaped and our old modem didn’t allow for wifi in the back of the house. instead of running ethernet cables through the attic, we picked up a Google WIFI and problem solved! Google Wifi took less than 30 minutes to set up and get running. Now we can stream, surf, browse, and read all without any hiccups. And the parental permissions are great! No more kiddos trying to watch Netflix after bedtime!

perfect for the lazy people like me that don’t feel like running a cat 5 into another room and just add another one of these pucks.

Expected throughput speed to be higher. Each device on one of three floors 15 feet to each other. Speed should be faster.

We were blown away with the improvement this made to our existing system. Seriously we improved 100-500%!! It really helped in some “dead spots” in our multi level home.

Google Mesh WiFi network solved the dead zones in my home. I had range extenders previously, which extended the WiFi service, but my devices didn’t disconnect from them even when I was closer to another one as the one it was connected to still was within its acceptable range. The Mesh Network takes care of that issue by communicating with each other and determining which unit is best to service a device. The Google Mesh WiFi network devices make it easy to install and connect all the cables. I was also given a switch to connect multiple devices with wire.

This is a good product . I have not used any other mesh product . This is better than just a a modem and a router for my duplex

Seamless app/net device. Jack for Ethernet wired connection is a real plus.

Got four boosters. Easy to set up, and started working immediately. Now our whole house is covered with strong wifi.

Only getting about ~200 Mbps download with Google Wifi. Switched back to Asus RT-86U and consistently getting 300 Mbps. UI for Google Wifi is too simple and you can’t really control the devices on the network.

The router tends to disconnect from the main network from time to time….then entire mesh network is slow and offline as well. Needs restart eberytime we need to make it work , the service provider claims their incoming fiber line is ok. Even after upgrading the Google nest router as well as the switch it made no difference
Rebeca Murray (verified owner) –
They randomly just go offline anytime they want. Have to reset to factory and start over alot.

Even in an average size house, it is really nice to get strong WiFi in every corner. Love that this system just works after relatively simple setup. Never have to worry about it being up to date.

Product is OK and works but could be so much better. Using the app, presentation of devices connected, how much bandwidth they consume and more importantly ability to disconnect a device from the wireless network from the app are sorely lacking or poorly implemented. One would expect more from a company with as much heft as Google, but alas!

Changing the main Google wifi router out with another took more time than the original set up. I ended up calling Google support and had to factory reset all routers.Otherwise setting it up is fairly easy. It does not support WPS. I ended up having to connect two printers to routers using ethernet cables. Which determined where the units had to be placed. I bought 3 more units, which are ridiculously overpriced, to extend my wifi outside the house. The old units used USB power cords and wall jacks and can be powered by USB ports on a powerstrip. The new ones now use an “old style” transformer wall jack and take up a plug.It really just depends on your needs as to whether the system meets your requirements.I think I would have gone with something else if I knew everything I do now.

This is a nice system the only drawback to this system that most others have is the device monitoring. When logging into the router it would be nice to be able to track device usage, how long it’s been on and what sites have been visited. You do not have much visibility and or control. Other than this the system works great.

Provides good coverage around the house. And has a lan port for a more reliable connection.

The Google nest gives our internet an awesome boost. We have tested, Xbox, Playstation, phones, computers, the list goes on, hooked to our internet. It would lag quite often but with the nest wifi, it picks up signal all around and nothing lags.

I’ve had google wifi for 1.5 years and have been very happy with the wifi. The google wifi app worked very well, but google phased it out and forced everyone to switch to the Home app to manage their google wifi. The Home app doesn’t do basic things. It directed me to update the software for my wifi. When I did so, the Home app just stayed on the “Updating software” as if it was still trying to update. Same thing when I tried to put one of my wifi points in a “room.” I just want an app that easily lets me manage the wifi, but google wants me to use their fancy, buggy new app in the hopes that I’ll automate my whole house with their software. Not going to happen. May have to investigate other mesh systems.
