I replaced my new ASUS XT8 mesh routers because they were causing switching issues, and sometimes would leave my devices in never-never land. Totally not acceptable. So I purchased the google wifi trio, 2nd gen. Installation was done via the google home app, and went without a hitch. The new mesh has now been in place for 4 weeks, and I have yet to experience a glitch, compared to the 10 glitches per day I was experiencing previously when I had the ASUS mesh routers.All I can say about the google wifi mesh is that it just works. Period.

Inability to choose between 5.0ghz and 2.4ghz causes a lot of issues for devices that can only utilize one vs another. Inability to customize devices priority permanently. Using Google Wifi application was way better than using Google Home application.

Devices connected to google wifi appear to lose connection periodically. Can’t prove it, but it appears to pass the duck test.The required change over to google home was not well planned. I had problems unpausing devises,

Although once established, the product worked fine, if any power interruption occurred the Mesh would have to be rebooted to factory settings and take 2 hrs to complete. After the second time, I got fed up and returned it.

I am so impressed by the amount of functions this has. I really thought the set up was quite easy. Downloading the app and getting the device hooked up was fast. We like that it has the capability to have its own network for guests, that is awesome. Super fast upload and download speeds and our house is 1500sq ft and coverage is great. I am definitely sticking with this and definitely recommend.
