Have a stable, reliable wireless network signal by installing the Google Wifi Mesh System in your home. Comprised of three devices for up to 4500 square feet of coverage, each 802.11ac Wi-Fi point supports a maximum data throughput of 1200 Mb/s over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signal bands. They can be individually configured to perform as a router or as satellites for your mesh network. Each is equipped with a quad-core ARM processor with 512MB of memory to handle up to 100 connected devices simultaneously with beamforming to deliver smooth 4K video streaming, video chats, online gaming experiences, and more throughout your home. Installing the Google Wifi wireless mesh network system is designed to be straightforward and easy. Simply connect the router to your modem, position each satellite throughout your home for optimal coverage, then use the Google Home app to configure the wireless network. The Google Wifi devices also include two Gigabit Ethernet ports—one connects to your modem while the other works as an access point for wired network devices such as computers, smart TVs, gaming consoles, and more. Your wireless signal is secured with WPA3 encryption.

I really had hoped that the Google mesh net work woodwork with current routers. That was the first disappointment. After hooking everything up, I ended up needing 2 nodes in the basement as the one by my modem did not carry far. I then put 1 on each floor hoping it would cover 1100 sq ft per node plus my garage. It’s shaky at true extremes. Looks like I will need to add a 5th for my garage. 5 nodes for approx 3600 sq ft. It still is pretty dependable when close though.

For a home where it isn’t possible to easily relocate the modem this router/wifi mesh system is perfect. We now have consistent coverage throughout our large home with no dead or weak spots. The recommended number of points is low so you might need an extra one. The google wifi and nest are interchangeable but only the Google wifi units have an ethernet port on each point. I added a google wifi point to my nest wifi mesh and use an ethernet connection for my desktop. Speed is consistently 50% of internet package speed which is the most you can usually expect from wifi.

I love my Google mesh network. I wish I could turn off the 5 GHz network so I could connect 2.4 GHz smart devices easily. The mesh network handles my 91 devices in my house very well.

I realized after I changed my modem router for a stand alone modem 5 wifi points that my modem worked well but with the 5 wifi points I had 5 issues!!! And I had to run over the house to troubleshoot them. Not great even if they say a mesh is the solution when it fails you have a mesh of issues!!!Not easy to setup, not the great product google. Unfortunately there is no zero stars.

So this is amazing. It was made our wifi work in places that it hasnt. I can even stop my daughter from using the internet when i don’t want her to. I also can restrict things that i don’t want her to access. Its not a eye sore and doesn’t take up a whole lot of space. Comes with instructions and a app that is very easy to understand and use. I set it up myself and was using it in minutes.

So easy it was amazing. HIGHLY recommended!! Plug in and follow directions, it sets itself up. Good speed also, this extended my internet outside of the house to a detached garage

Well if you would have asked me 2 months ago I would have said 5 star, but every since I switched from the stand alone app into the Google Home app, nothing but problems when using Zoom and Teams. I did a factory reset and still nothing. Spectrum provides me 400 Mbs, and when I plug in my device using Ethernet I get 450 Mbs, however with Google Wifi I only get 100 Mbs max and I have tried on 5 different devices (laptops and computers). I’ve had this setup for 3 years and it only started after moving to the Home app which should not matter but hey that is all I can say has changed.I’d still recommend this product but beware of Zoom and Microsoft Teams video calls.

The WiFi mesh for the first month and half would not keep all three up and running. We would get it to connect and then at least one of the outliers would disconnect. It usually the one closest to the router but on a floor above it. Which when that happened it reset my Nest Thermostat also. The other issue that we were having it was limiting the amount of devices to connect to 25.

Super easy to set up, everyone at google fiber was so nice and explained everything until I fully understood how to set it up, pay my bill, etc. 10/10 wouldn’t use any other internet service.

We are very pleased with Google Fiber, wifi, and the mesh extender. We have a router on both stories of our home and there isn’t a weak signal spot anywhere in the house.

I’m very disappointed. both in coverage and consistency. The speed and connectivity is great for main router but the mesh is weak despite placing 1st node just 40′ away at about same height with line of sight.. sometimes This node is great connection, sometimes just good. Next one only 20′ away, albeit though (usually open) window never better than fair connection. A 3rd point is in bedroom adjacent to 1st that ranges from fair to great.

This product has been able to extend my home network easily along with supporting the needs of the family’s gaming, teleconferencing, and general browsing. The connection into the Google home app makes everything seamless so I can find out when devices connect or pause them if need be. All in all its been a great product!

I have a large, three-level home. I bought 4 Google WiFi access points. Using the Google Home App, I was able to quickly set up a strong signal in every room. I even set up a second Guest network so that people who rent out my guest room via Air BnB do not have access to any of our other home devices. It took no knowledge of networking, Google did all the technical stuff for me and it works perfectly.

Dead spots. Signal strength weak. A lot of buffering. Didn’t have any issues on my old router in 2019. Now with the Google WiFi mesh I have too many issues. Looking to change providers.

The best router I’ve ever had and this one is the older version. The newer one is likely even better. We have an ~1800 sq ft house with small backyard and two meshed together were more than enough to cover the space. Speeds are always fast and the design blends into the background. The only complaint is that there is not yet any option for a router with WiFi 6. Other than that, definitely go for this one, well worth the money.

Got the 3 pack, covered my house perfectly but the double NAT (address translation) between my ISP’s router and the Google WiFi played havoc with both my Linux server and spouse’s game hosting. Could have tried it in access point mode but that restricts it to only one of the three devices which means I’d be wasting 2/3 of what I paid for.Great if you’re not hosting an online game to play with a friend or a home server. Had to return it.

Easy to install, very good signal, dependable and has great support when needed.

Google fiber has been the greatest thing yet. Speed is incredible and reliability is beyond our high expectations!
Dortha Gerlach (verified owner) –
I recently bought the 3 pack and I salted them throughout my home…. The results were amazing…. Every internet connected device benefited from them. I think it may be the first technology device that exceeded my expectations.

Love how easy to set up and use. One thing that would greatly improve the product for me would be the ability to throttle bandwidth on the Guest Network.
