Have a stable, reliable wireless network signal by installing the Google Wifi Mesh System in your home. Comprised of three devices for up to 4500 square feet of coverage, each 802.11ac Wi-Fi point supports a maximum data throughput of 1200 Mb/s over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signal bands. They can be individually configured to perform as a router or as satellites for your mesh network. Each is equipped with a quad-core ARM processor with 512MB of memory to handle up to 100 connected devices simultaneously with beamforming to deliver smooth 4K video streaming, video chats, online gaming experiences, and more throughout your home. Installing the Google Wifi wireless mesh network system is designed to be straightforward and easy. Simply connect the router to your modem, position each satellite throughout your home for optimal coverage, then use the Google Home app to configure the wireless network. The Google Wifi devices also include two Gigabit Ethernet ports—one connects to your modem while the other works as an access point for wired network devices such as computers, smart TVs, gaming consoles, and more. Your wireless signal is secured with WPA3 encryption.

Plugged in the second wifi puck to a cat5e which goes through a switch back to the main Google router. Brought my entire network to a crawl until I figured out what was causing it. 0-5mbps downloads (gigabit plan) and almost no LAN functionality. The mesh test still said everything was great. The second I unplugged the AP everything worked again.Without wired backhaul my Amplifi HD router performs better and had equal or better coverage with more advanced options.

Works ok, only has one ethernet input and one ethernet output so need a splitter to hardwire existing outlets. Two are not enough for a multilevel 2600 ft house.

Absolutely love my 3 pack mesh routing Google Wifi. We had a very powerful standard router and it would not get the job done for some reason. It would leave random dead spots throughout the house. Google has upped the game when it comes to routers!

Google Wifi, the perfect in MESH Wifi. I am in absolute love with these routers! They’re small, and they can sure broadcast a signal! I have 4 of these little guys, (3) of the 2016 version, and (1) of the 2020 version. This is the 2020 version with the barrel plug power supply, which I have to admit, I do like the USB power supply a little better but this one is a nice and small connector. The Google WIFI has 2 ports of the bottom of the unit, and they are both color coded with symbols on each. The setup is a breeze and once you install the APP on your phone, it walks you thru everything you need to do to get these guys working in no time flat. Once port is the one that goes from your cable modem (Internet In) and the other port would go to a wired device. I assume it was meant to go to your computer workstation wired direct however I sent mine to a mini 8 port RJ45 switch so I can distribute my internet not only wirelessly (with this Google WIFI) but also via the CAT cords running in my home. The APP on your phone controls everything, there are NO Buttons on this thing. Not even a power button (which would be somewhat nice, but I guess pulling the pull does just as good.) These things are capable of so much, from a main wifi network to a guest wifi network. It broadcasts in both 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz. Supports all the modern wifi adaptors from A to E and everything in between. I have one in my Office, One in my Kitchen, One In My Garage, and One downstairs. All 4 mesh together and connect. They don’t need wires to mesh together, just to be within range of each other. I have my house and backyard / pool area blanketed with coverage and never loose signal going from the basement to the garage and back again! I can no say enough great things on these routers, except give them a try. Once you have them, you’ll wonder why you never purchased such a great device before.

It’s awesome I have used all services providers but Google fiber is best

After struggling with our Optimum wifi, Google Nest came to the rescue. Outstanding performance.

Been using this for a few years and it is just not reliable, has not produced the same download speeds it did the first year, and continues to just be slow. Was great for when I needed to pause certain devices for the kids.
Kelsi Prosacco (verified owner) –
Easy to set up, and easier to use. Works amazing, and everything is controlled through the Google home app. Meaning i don’t need another app

We have friends who are very happy with their Google Nest. It didn’t seem to help us. We returned ours after about 2 weeks of measuring signal, rebooting, etc. We just didn’t see any improvement.

We have been looking for a way to improve our wifi situation now that we have 3 kids doing virtual learning, plus my husband is working from home. We are just over the recommended square footage for using a single unit so I thought I’d give it a go. The improvement over our old router has been remarkable. Our kitchen table is still a bit spotty as far as coverage goes, but like I said, we were a bit over the recommended square footage for a single unit. Strongly considering buying one more which I’m confident will fix the issue.

My PC doesn’t have a wireless card. So it was a life saver that I can use the secondary connect points as a hard ethernet connection for my PC.And its blazing fast too!

Everything so far has been great. I hope Google will provide internet at our primary residence soon so we can switch to them there as well.
Waino Dare (verified owner) –
Very smooth, very convenient. No buffering. Just top notch.

There are always speed problem. When I did speed test it shows high speed but didn’t like quality. Cox with low speed were more stable.

I am super pleased with my super fast Google Wi-Fi set up. I have been limping along with a competitor for several years. Then came Google! It is so much more reliable than the past products that I have used. Thanks again Google!

If i know the lack of features i would have gone with a different vendor. Overall these units work well and are made to be idiot proof. However, many advanced features are simply not available…..for example, no ability to disable 2Ghz and only run 5Ghz, no control of channels, no firewall capabilities, etc, etc. But they are super easy to get going and made to truly be idiot proof. One other feedback is that google is sunsetting the Google Wifi app and forcing to move to Google Home. UI is lack luster and not as friendly. I gave it 3/5 due to lack of features and truly whish i had gone with a different vendor…….

For the price, I would have expected the Google WiFi to last longer. After a few years it drops connections, the mesh goes below 10Mbps on one node while the main node is at 150Mbps. Also, Google recently forced to use the Nest app, which tries to do everything but does nothing well. If you happened to already have a Nest account then you might wind up with two accounts that can’t be merged. The app itself will only actually connect to the devices maybe one out of every 10 times and slowly at that. I’ve tried over half an hour to get the app to connect to the device when it’s supposedly working unsuccessfully. Support is really good in that you can talk to a live person and they’ll spend real time with you, but after three calls and over 2 hours on the line with no resolution and several emails, I’m cutting my losses and going with a different brand.

The google WiFi network has created a stronger signal in areas of our home that were to far away from our router. By having more than one can create a mesh network providing us with greater WiFi strength than before.

This was easy to install. Just plug it into your modem. Then the whole house (up to 1500 square feet) will have WiFi coverage! It comes with an ethernet cable and power adaptor as well. I think it’s a good choice.
