I had never used a pressure cooker before, so I was a little intimidated at first. I read the enclosed instruction book, and felt much more at ease. It comes with a cookbook of over 50 recipes to try, as well as accessories. It is large enough to cook full roast, chickens, ribs etc for your family meals. It takes the place of several cooking appliances. It is a rice cooker, pressure cooker and slow cooker just to name a few. The touch screen on the front is very easy to understand, even for the inexperienced pressure cooker user like myself. I really like the fact that the inner pot has cool touch handles and it is dishwasher safe making clean up a breeze. This is now my new go to cooking appliance for my family meals.

The 8.5 quart ovate series pressure cooker is absolutely amazing. I put a roast on in it and I used the slow cooker and it was done in about 7 hours, most of the time I have to cook it over night for it to be done the next day but with this cooker is was done and i didnt have to cook it over night which i love. And it has a pressure cooking button and a saute button and i love that the lid locks and you cant unlock it until the pressure is released. With the saute button you dont even put the lid on, plus you have a button for the time on how long you wanna cook it for plus it has a temperature button to pick which temperature you wanna cook the stuff on.

Always wanted to try a pressure cooker but always found a reason not to. Finally pulled the trigger and went all in on the 8.5 Qt model as larger family gatherings are occurring more often and more time with family and less tending to food prep is preferred. The user manual (especially the do’s and don’t part) is a must read for newbies like me. Also as a pressure cooker neophyte, I was somewhat bound by the cookbook (and the kindness of others) for what and how to cook. First few runs with suggested settings etc. with a roast and chicken and barbecued beef ribs andveggies was to my great surprise, a huge success. Everything tasted flavorful and juicy and not the least bit dried out. I will be searching for more adventurous foods to try and if the past is prescient for the future, it will be great as well. Size wise, this is a bit bigger than necessary for everyday family use and if you plan to use in a small family setting, a smaller model would take up less space and still provide almost everything you need. Clean up was a breeze as the inner part is dishwasher safe.

I will admit, I was pretty scared to try a pressure cooker. But after having used this to make weeknight dinners, I’m a true fan. I made Asian style beef short ribs which normally take 8 hours in a slow cooker, and in 40 mins I had perfectly tender short ribs. I was amazed. I’m convinced a pressure cooker is the secret to cooking juicy, perfectly cooked chicken breasts. No more dry and over cooked chicken here! This cooker comes with a recipe book which I have yet to use, but I like that it comes included. It shows you just how versatile the cooker is. If you are new to using a pressure cooker, I advise you read the user manual front to back. It explains everything really clearly and includes the Do’s and Dont’s to pressure cooking. After reading that, it’s very easy to use. This cooker seems very well made, everything seems solid and I love that the inner pot is dishwasher safe. It’s also non-stick for easy washing. The only thing I don’t love about this, is the pressure quick release switch. It just seems a little loose to me, but it’s possible it is designed that way for safety reasons. I’m not an expert and I haven’t seen any other cooker brands to compare to. I highly recommend this item. It can take the place of your nonstick skillets and pans, and your crock pot/slow cooker. I’m a convert!

This is my first time using a multi-purpose pot. First, I was surprised by how heavy it is! Once I got it out of the box & started reading the User Manual, I was afraid that all of the functions would be totally confusing to me. I read about the controls & features, the cooking programs & general operating instructions so that I would be ready to use it for the first time. I decided to make shredded chicken for tacos so I gathered the ingredients & plugged in the pot. Once I started toggling through the functions, I began to understand more how it worked. I programmed the pot & stood back to watch. I usually cook taco chicken in my slow cooker & it takes 4 to 6 hours. This pot cooked it in less than 30 minutes & it was delicious! Since then, I’ve cooked rice & potatoes to make mashed potatoes, both of which turned out perfect. I still haven’t tried all of the functions but I like what I’ve tried so far. This cooker is very sturdy. It comes with a mesh basket & a flat steamer rack plus 2 plastic utensils & a measuring cup. The inner pot is non-stick so it is very easy to clean. I think with all of the different preset buttons & programming options, it will be hard to mess anything up! I’m going to try cooking ribs or a pot roast next & I’m also eager to try the pressure canning feature.

First off I have only used this one time and was so frustrated that I had to put it away and I will come back and cook with it on a weekend when I have time. That said I may come back and revise my review. I heard so many people talk about how much they loved this, how easy it is and I had really high hopes, thinking wow a way to get dinner on the table quick, well it is very confusing to use, first off the instructions that come with this are vague, seriously the company needs to rewrite their booklet and there is no on/off button, they don’t tell you how to release the pressure or adjust it or for that matter what each setting does and how each setting works. I’m a reader and I like literal instructions, so since I couldn’t figure it out with the instructions, I played around with it the first time for a good half hour and not even sure how but got it to work. I made teriyaki chicken which was moist and absolutely amazing – so I do give it 5 stars for how the food cooks and I will go on You Tube and watch a video and learn to use it. I’m going to say I would recommend this only because I feel once I figure this out I’m going to love it, there is just a learning curve to it.
