   This grill was picked up for use at small gatherings, kids birthdays, etc. Surprisingly it arrived in 2 boxes. One box contains the grill and the second the glass cover. There is some assembly required. Depending on your environment you may get away without the cover but it may also provide means to heating the dogs creating a partial enclosure rather than just a protective top. It takes up considerable room when assembled so it will be stored disassembled when not used for extended periods of time. The grill comes packed with fitted Styrofoam so a little messy unpacking. The cord is the same type of cord used to connect to a PC power supply or standard monitors. Check thickness of cable/shielding since it may require a larger cord. Unpack the glass cover also packed with fitted Styrofoam. Some of the screws were loose in the box so thankfully they didn’t get lost. Assembly takes a little bit of time to ensure you place the plastic base/corner parts in the proper location and direction. Extra care needed when handling the glass and installing to make sure it doesn’t slip/fall and break. Four screws are removed from the grill to attach the base pieces and screws, nuts, washers provided to assemble the top of the cover. It can be done without assistance with caution.It runs very quiet and if you’re familiar with them when purchasing a hot dog from any convenience store, it’s clear how easy it is to use. It does have a tray under the rollers that can be removed to clean any dripping below. It probably should be hand washed rather than placed in a dishwasher. The front and back rollers are independently temperature controlled (front and back temperature control). The instructions include information for all the various models of this grill. They all go from 0 to 250 degrees Celsius (or 485 degrees F) It gets hot! It can rotate with no heat probably more for the ability to clean. The rollers do not appear to be able to be removed. It states to clean them with a wet cloth. The juices from food products “season” and or keep the rollers lubricated. It’s a nice grill and will get a lot of use throughout the year.

   Great Northern Commercial 1400-Watts 18-Hot Dog 7 Non Stick Roller Top Dog Grilling Machine with Cover, is made of stainless steel with a three piece glass sneeze guard cover. It came in two boxes, the glass came in the small box. Temperature is 0-482 degrees F. Draws 1.4 KW 110v, size is 22.8” x 16” x 6.7”. This is very well made.My favorite naughty food is a hot dog fixed the way I feel, loaded or maybe just mustard. This is not a toy but a commercial grade grilling machine. Put your favorite type or brand dog or sausage on it and let it simmer until time to consume, It has two heat zones, the front controller, controls all 7 rollers and the back controller can control the back three rollers at a lower temperature for holding cooked product. I was ready to cook in 8 minutes and the way the grill heats there are no cold spots so each dog gets the heat it needs for an efficient cook. The size of the dog and the density of the frank/sausage will determine how fast you are ready to serve. A meat thermometer should be used to ensure everyone’s safety. There is a fuse box on the back with extra fuses in the package included with the owners manuals. The electrical cord plugs into the back and it’s high quality too and surprisingly pliable for a heavy duty electrical cord. It has an external ground tap in case your electrical outlet is not grounded. Rubber feet keep it in place. The slide out drip tray is easy to remove and clean. It produces great food continuously. If you are having a personal gathering it will certainly draw some fun comments and make the event special and if you are feeding for a fee, well have at it this will not let you down. They make them larger and smaller. Church activities, Birthdays, Scouts, Bazaar’s, Family Reunions, many places this grill can be helpful. High Quality Grill, Delicious Dogs.

   Awesome counter top appliance to have for summer cook outs, game watching, sleep overs, etc. Operation is extremely easy and allows setting different temperatures on the front and back rollers so you can keep some dogs warm while cooking others (no more going back for seconds only to grab a cold hot dog off of a plate). Cooking is even throughout ever position and the add-on partial glass cover helps keep grease spatter down. Clean up is minimal. Great fun to have but very efficent. The description says it can hold 18 hot dogs but that would be the short ones…it holds 12 bun length dogs at a time.

    I received my commercial 1400-watt 18-hot dog machine today; you can cook up to 18 hot dogs or sausages.This hot dog cooker has a lot of different modes, such as heat up and keep warm settings. I also like the removable stainless-steel tray which makes for easy cleanup.The dual controls come in handy for the front and rear heat adjustment.Overall this is a convenient time-saver easy to clean hot/sausage cooker with a heavy duty glass cover.

    This is a great machine if you need to crank out enough dogs for a group or crowd without taking all day. I have an older dogger I’ve had for 20 years that only does 6 dogs at a time and only has 2 temp settings. It takes about 20 minutes to cook dogs well done. It still works fine but you can’t do dogs fast enough for more than 2 or 3 people. It’s just too slow. This one will do the 18 before my old one gets warmed up good. On a setting of only 3 it was way faster than my old one was on high. It really cranks them out. I’m a hot dog cooking fiend now. I like the ability to set the front and back to different settings so you can cook fast then just keep warm. It does take up some real estate but fortunately I have a good place to store it when not in use. This will be just the thing for all kinds of gatherings like church gatherings, reunions and family dinners (I have a large family), or just whatever. Obviously it is at home in a commercial environment though I think if you were using it commercially you’d probably want the one with the bun warmer as well (or you could use a separate bun warmer.) I tried using it without the glass cover installed (yes it is glass not plastic) but without the cover there is a little popping of grease onto the counter behind it. So I’d recommend either using the cover or covering the area with something to catch the small bit of spatter from the dogs. The cover is easy to assemble but it is not something that just snaps on and off. It is screwed on. Although removing it is pretty simple and easy.
