This shave ice machine was purchased as a fundraising tool for a high school. It paid for itself within the first week and has made thousands (at a buck a cone) over the two years we have had it. It has held together with some basic maintenance and the blade has been sharpened only once. On occasion, ice can dislodge and fly out and hit the operator, so we fashioned a flexible plastic cage to avoid those mishaps. We also used a footpeddle switch to turn the machine on and off which makes it more convenient in operation. Overall, this machine is a great value and has performed admirably.

I’ve watched expensive shavers in action, and I can’t tell the difference between them and this one.You do want to clean the blade before using the machine. I also adjusted the blade to make it flat with the table. Makes very good shaved ice.I would have given this product 5 stars but, customer service is no help at this company. There seems to be only person in the company that has knowledge of the device; he is on the warehouse floor and won’t come to the phone.Pay attention to how the blade is sharpened. It was sharpened on a grinder and has a bur.

The Ice Cub is priced at a very good price point for what it does, but the unit that I received had been improperly assembled. The top cover was installed incorrectly, causing the mechanism to not operate properly. Also, when shaving larger blocks of ice, the unit’s automatic feed would stall causing it to make a grinding noise, and not produce any shaved ice.

Great machine, makes very soft, fluffy shaved ice. It comes with a safety shield, which may be something new; past reviews on other forums indicated that there was no shield. It would be nice if it came with an ice mold, but we froze water in a pot and that worked well. We are very pleased with this purchase.

very noisy, shave ice becomes crushed ice like a snow ball not snow. Worked 1 hour blade went dual! Stickers coming off after one week. Grease flies off and into ice if not careful! What you get with so called commercail grade.
