The sturdy high impact construction makes it durable, light weight, and easy to clean. As opposed to a snow cone machine which crushes ice and yields “grainy ice”, the “Polar Pal” slowly shaves the ice off the block and produces the softest/fluffiest ice in the industry. The stainless-steel blades are adjustable to make shaved ice as fine or course as you would like. Just add Great Northern Polar Cone Syrup and you have a recipe for success. Six Inch block ice works great. You can also use a common plastic paint bucket to freeze your perfect ice block. If you don’t want to buy a bucket, use an old milk jug and cut off the top. 6 AMPS/110-Volt/400-Watts. Shaves 6 lbs./minute (more than 350 lbs./hour). Commercial Grade. The shaved ice is fantastic. That being said, it was much taller than I anticipated and it doesn’t fit on my countertop- I used it outdoors so it worked out.

I purchased online without actually seeing in store thinking this would be cool for the kids to use, but I failed to look at the dimensions…so if you’re looking for a semi-commercial sno-cone machine, this is it! It’s about 36″ tall and 12″ wide in diameter. It’s huge! The other downside is that it actually uses real blocks of ice, not something out of your freezer. It’s cool, but too big for me.

This product needs a BLOCK of ice. It does not take regular cubed ice. If the ice block becomes able to move/crushed/broken/ etc, it makes the door fly open and the machine has an emergency shut off switch. It was nice the first few times but making blocks of ice and having issues getting the block to shaved correctly was a pain.
