This machine is really easy to use. The clean up process is a little work because of the space you have to work in, but it can just be wiped out with paper towels. It pops really fast and does not take long at all to warm up.

I’ve only used this machine a handful of times so far. The machine is built well and definitely pops alot of popcorn but it also waste alot of popcorn and burns the popcorn quickly. Your best bet to get the measured out packaged popcorn so there is no mistakes on how much to put in.

Bought this for my wife as a gift. We have run five batches ranging from 1/4 cup to 1 1/2 cups and it works well.With smaller batches, since the kettle is so large, you really must listen to the kernels popping as the lid may not open.We turn on the kettle heater for about 2 minutes to allow the coconut oil to heat up, then add the popcorn and turn on the stirrer. When the popping start to get irregular at the end of the cycle, we turn off the kettle heater, but leave the stirrer on. This prevents or at least reduces burning the popcorn remaining in the kettle.

I have owned a Great Northern popper for years. When my old one finally died (after about 15 years) I ordered a replacement directly from the manufacturer. BIG MISTAKE! They offer “free” shipping but as it turns out that doesn’t cover return shipping even if the machine is defective or damaged. These are heavy and it costs about $100 to return ship them. The replacement I ordered was the wrong size and even though their customer service agent quoted me the wrong specifications I was stuck having to pay the original shipping AND return shipping. The only break they offered was to waive the 20% restocking fee if I purchased a larger model. I ordered the next one from Home Depot because they offered free returns to the store. I couldn’t have been more grateful when my next machine showed up damaged. Third time appears to be the charm. Although the box arrived torn and smashed on one side the machine survived. I’ve noticed the components are much cheaper than my original so I do have doubts that this model will last as long. I have read that warranty claims are difficult and after my experience dealing directly with the manufacturer I doubt I would even bother trying. This model is also very difficult to clean. On a positive note it makes great tasting popcorn and at $275 it is much cheaper than commercial machines.

This product was perfect for our church Fall Festival and Movie Night. Adding popcorn for additional popping is a little tricky with the hot tub in the middle but if careful, it can be done. The popcorn popped good with very few kernels and the kernels fell through to the tray in the bottom for easy removal.
