SUMMARY: WHAT A GREAT MACHINE FOR THE SERIOUS POPCORN EATER, OR SMALL BUSINESSBACKGROUND: We like popcorn, we make a lot of it. We have been looking for a good, high capacity machine for a few years. The chance to try out the Great Northern “Pop Heaven” machine was too good to pass up.FIT AND FINISH: This is a quality machine. It is the same general machine that we have seen in snack bars, bowling alley kitchens, high school events and small venue meeting halls. The clear sides are all glass, not plastic. The gears for the kettle stirrer are metal, not plastic. The bottom and sheet metal is stainless steel.ACCESSORIES: The machine is complete and even includes a salt shaker, popcorn measuring cup, oil measuring spoon, popped corn scoop, a few paper bags, and 3 plastic popcorn holders that look like paper bags. Salt shaker, measuring cup, and measuring spoon are all stainless-steel. Very nice!OPERATION: Popping a kettle of corn is really easy. Add the oil, turn on the warmer, stirrer, and kettle heater, and let the oil heat up. When it starts to steam add the popcorn and close the lid. We popped 4 ounces in less than a minute, and it tool just a touch longer to pop 12 ounces. The popcorn pushed out of the kettle lid just like the ones in movie theaters, spilling down into the holding area. A couple of scoops and the plastic holder was full. Salting to taste was easy with the shaker provided.SUMMARY: Our dream machine for making popcorn. (p.s. kettle popped corn is great for stringing up for Christmas!!!PROS: Professional level machine, stainless-steel components, glass doors and sides. Quick and easy to use.
