The Great Northern Gumball Machine and Bank brings back memories of an old fashion candy shop with the penny gumball machine. The base is constructed of a heavy-duty cast metal base and the globe is made of real glass-not cheap plastic. The heavy duty construction provides added stability and feel and prevents the machine from tipping over like some of the inferior units sold in the marketplace. Great Northern has incorporated an innovative dispensing mechanism which is fully adjustable so you can vary the amount of candy/gum that is dispensed when you turn the handle. In addition, there is a unique anti-spill cover which will keep your candy/gum in the tray and not on the floor. The machine also operates as a bank and has proven to be an effective tool for teaching kids how to save money. This is a real deal gumball machine. Made from metal and glass so it’s solid and impressive. Works like a champ. We put jelly beans in ours. It’s a little smaller than standard size, but plenty big for our use. Check ouit the dimensions if you want a larger one. Home Depot does carry a bigger one as well.

Just picked this up at my local Home Depot. Machine is nice quality. Love that it accepts pennies, nickels, or quarters. Does have the option for “free spinning”, not requiring coins, but this involves disassembling the bank and adjusting the inner mechanism. This is a little daunting for me. So, we will be using coins! Had fun filling it with gumballs bought from local Walmart. Can’t wait to fill with other types of candies after the bubble gum runs out!
