This works great and is easy to adjust. Once you get it to the height of your wood, I send the piece of wood through and then flip the piece of wood over and send it through again. Then I go half a crank on the handle and repeat the process until the wood is smooth and even. Slower than my planer, but with small pieces of wood, it does not throw it back at me like my planer does. For bigger pieces of wood, I use my planer. I make wooded bowels and my planer wasn’t made for small bowl sections, so this is the reason that I bought this sander and it works great. But sometimes, I have to take a small diameter dowel rod and help the wood section to get through it. If you buy it, you want be sorry (at least I’m not)!
