We’ve taken 1 of the most popular planers ever and built it into an Extreme Machine. Just look at the features on this monster. Solid cast iron extension tables make this smooth surface ground planer table just short of 5 ft. L. You can’t get better support from a planer than that. The large handwheel makes table movement silky smooth and the super rigid pedestal holds the power controls at a convenient height. The extra heavy-duty welded steel base also makes for a very stable machine.
- Motor and cutterhead have ball bearings which are shielded and lubricated for life

I purchased this Grizzly G1033X from Home Depot for the same amount as Grizzly. The price was a little more but the freight was less & easier to deal with. It arrived timely and no damage. Unpacking and installing onto bear crawl mobile base was a careful step by step. I bored holes in 4×4’s and mounted them on the forklift bars. I cut the pallet in width and length to the size of the planer cabinet. This allowed 4 jacks to get right up to the machine and under the 4×4’s. I had 2 bottle jacks & 2 floor jacks and that worked well. I added & removed additional 4×4 spacers under the mounted 4×4’s as required by the capacity of the jacks as I slowly raised the planer to remove the pallet then lowered the planer to the floor and mobile base. Mobile base instructions took over from there and was also an easy step by step. It’s easily parked and pulled out for use on the bear crawl mobile base. Assembley & technical adjustments were successful with the enclosed instructions and available online YouTube videos. Get the rotocator, it’s really necessary to set the components to the required specs. This helical head machine is much quieter than the bench top straight knife planer it replaced. Everything about this G1033X is heavy duty and quality.
