I’ll review this drill bit set based on my inspection of the product, not having used it as it was sent in error of another Gryos drill set that was ordered and this set was returned to Home Depot. The Gryos box label states “Made in China.” The steel drill index box is a Hout, Made in USA. Not all the drill bits are oxide coated (black). Some have a bright plate coating for corrosion protection. The index of drills appears to have been assembled from a somewhat wide selection various high speed steel bits from various manufactures of drills. Some bits list the county of manufacture, such as Japan, and others are almost void of any information, including the drill size (diameter). It is kind of like a “box of chocolates” drill bit set. Never-the-less, high speed steel will drill virtually any material out there other than glass or rock. And high speed steel is easily sharpened by hand or with a drill sharpener without any special cutting or grinding fluids. For other than production or manufacturing work, high speed steel will serve most users for a lifetime or until the drill bit is broken, which can happen with the smaller wire gauge bits when too much force is applied.
