Best slow cooker of the 6that I have owned. Love the timer feature on it. The best part is not having that heavy glass stoneware inside to wash.the removable nonstick metal is light and easy to wash.

Love the fact that I can use one pot to take me from searing to slow cooker! Insert is lightweight and easy to lift out making the transfer from stove/oven to slow cooker and easy process. The programmable feature has enough options to keep me from overcooking and the auto shift to warm is appreciated -especially when work keeps me late. You will be very happy with this slow cooker!

This is pretty much a no-nonsense ( but no fancy bells and whistle) type of slow cooker. It does exactly what its name says. It sears meat nicely, and it also slow cooks nicely. I’ve made pork tenderloin in it which came out wonderful. The cooking pot is removable so one can prepare foods in it and store it in the refrigerator overnight and then take it out in the morning and plug it in and choose how long the food should cook. One can choose the temperature separately from the cooking time. The cooking time selected, in 2 hour intervals, (i.e. 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, or 10 hours ) lights up for 2 hours, and if the cooking time is longer, it will then light up the cooking time again for another 2 hour period, etc. The slow cooker will switch to a WARM setting automatically when the cooking time has expired. Maximum time the slow cooker is on, including the warm setting, is 14 hours, according to the instruction manual, but I haven’t had anything cook more than 6 hours.Oh- the default setting on HIGH is 4 hours. The non-stick interior makes it an easy to clean small kitchen appliance. I also like the oval shape of the pot much more than a round shaped pot.

The Hamilton Beach 6 Quart Stovetop Sear and Cook Slow Cooker is my new favorite kitchen appliance. Here’s why first it’s super simple and easy to navigate the touchpad. Secondly you only have one dish to clean, you can sear your meat right in the cook pan. Also this cooker weighs less with having an aluminum pan instead of a ceramic and less likely to break.

I recieved this about one week ago and started using it immediately. First I used the stovetop searing medthod it work out perfectly. Next I used just the slow cooker and again it work perfectly. I have three stand alone cooker, on muilt-pot type and this one of all the types I like this best. It works just as Hamilton Beach said it should. If I needed to purchase another cooke this would be the one.

I love it because you can brown in the same pot.

This slow cooker is easy to use. The buttons are easy to read, and press. The slow cooker works really well. I would’ve liked it better if it automatically went to warm after the cooking time expires, and if it had a longer cord. I would also prefer if the lid could be secured to the slow cooker.

This has to be one of the best things anyone has ever done to a Crock Pot.I had stopped browning and searing food because I didn’t want to get another pan dirty. Call me lazy but I found it wasn’t worth the effort. Now, you have made it possible to do. I made a pot roast and it is the first time I have browned one in a long time. I forgot what an important step that was. The roast was so moist and tender that I will never not sear again. Thanks for making it possible to do in one pan and one mess. The clean up was so simple and the weight of the insert is nothing compared to my old crock pot. You have a winner here and I would recommend it to all.

This slow cooker saves time and the amount of dirty dishes, with its great feature of being able to sear the meat in it on the stove before placing in slow cooker base. The only thing I would change is for it to be fully programmable.

Love it – this is a replacement for a MUCH older HB slow cooker. Love that I can use it on the stovetop first and then put it in the base. Simple to use and clean. Can’t ask for more!

We got the Stovetop Sear and Cook Slow Cooker last week and could not believe how incredibly light weight the entire appliance was. Our old slow cooker is so heavy because of the ceramic insert. We have used it twice so far, it works like a dream, and is so easy to use and clean. We browned a roast on the stove top in the metal insert and then placed it in the slow cooker to finish. The insert is deep enough to keep any splatters from the searing off of the stove top and there was only one pot to clean when we finished. The cord could be about 6 inches longer and I would prefer that all 4 feet, that rest on the counter, were rubber. The front two feet are rubber, but the back two seem to be hard plastic, which makes the unit slide when you try to use the buttons on the front panel to program the time. I would definitely recommend this slow cooker to friends and family.

This slow cooker does exactly what it says. Inside pot can be used for searing meat prior to slow cooking. Setting are easy to use . Perfect size for a family size roast, whole chicken, double batch of stews or soups. Super easy to clean too. Definitely recommend.

Pros:I had misgivings before using it for the first time because slow cookers always have a stoneware insert. Right? This innovative use of an aluminum non-stick pan is a great feature. Using the slow cooker insert, I seared a roast in the insert and then transferred it to the slow cooker. In addition to the roast, I tried a smothered chicken breast recipe and a potatoe soup recipe. Both turned out perfect. This slow cooker insert is light weight – easy to clean – and is dishwasher safe. No heavy stoneware pot to manhandle when cleaning food remnants from the pan and no grayish stains imbedded in the stoneware that you have to polish to remove.Cons:The slow cooker timer counts down in 2 hour increments only. You cannot set the timer to 4:30 minutes, only 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 -10. If you set the timer for four hours, you will not see a countdown in minutes, only the next jum to two hours. When it displays two hours, you don’t know if the remaining cooking time is 15 minutes or 1 hour and 59 minutes. The only way around this is to check your wall clock at the same time as you set the timer so you know the food will be finished cooking at 2:00 pm for example. This slow cooker also has a lid that doesn’t latch down so you transport the cooker with a tight lid but we only cook for home us so that is not a problem. I don’t understand the logic of the two hour countdown feature but this is not a deal breaker for me.

I’ve never used a slow cooker before so I was excited to try it out for the first time. I really like the size capacity because it is able to fit an entire chicken! It’s incredibly lightweight but feels sturdy enough so I hope it lasts a long time. The temperature and time settings a minimal but easy and intuitive to follow and use. Another great thing is the inner pot can be used on the stove to brown meat before being set to slow cook which is nice because I like to brown beef before cooking it to get some color. My beef stew cooked to perfection and was soft and tender. A couple of points of improvement: I wish there was a medium heat setting just to have an option between low and high heat option. Also, the outer pot could be insulated so you don’t run the risk of accidentally burning your hand if it touches the pot. Other than that it’s a great entry into the world of slow cooking.

Best part… no heavy stoneware! The removable nonstick metal is light weight and easy to clean. Brown on the stove then lift into the base to slow cook. And love the mix and match flexible programming

I would give this slow cooker the maximum number of stars. It is the 4th one I’ve purchased in 2 years in an attempt to get one that will reach boiling temperature. It does! I can sear on my gas stove top with the insert. The size accommodates a full size chicken and vegetables or a pot roast and vegetables. The cooking controls are easy to use. Today is my first use of the slow cooker and it is a delight. If I’d had to return it, Home Depot will accept the return at the local store (a buying factor). Thanks, Hamilton Beach, thanks HomeDepot

I have been looking for a slow cooker of this type for a while with a removable container to work on the stove top. The fact that I can brown or sear meat or start a recipe on the stove and not have to transfer to a separate slow cooker is great. I can fit two pork loins easily and still have room to add vegetables and stock to create an entire meal. The controls are easy to use, conveniently located and the nonstick cleans up with no effort. It is the perfect size for a family.
