This was received as a sample product and I love it. It is small enough that it doesnt take up alot of counter space. It will cook many differtnt type of things but I have been useing the steamer the most. It works so well and fast. Easy to clean up also.

I used the Simplicity Rice Cooker for my first office lunch at my employer. I was a bit nervous, because I am not a big rice user, as I always have trouble cooking it.I found a recipe online which could be used in the cooker, and set about gathering my ingredients. On the day that I had to do the cooking, I could not believe how easy it was! I put the amount of rice that was needed for the recipe, rinsed it well and put it in the cooker with the other ingredients and turned it on…45 minutes later, the rice was done perfectly, and the additional items I added in were cooked and heated through. Clean up was a breeze, and I must say that my first dish was a hit with everyone! We also used the rice cooker the next day to heat up soup, for grilled cheese and tomato soup sandwiches! The cooker heated the soup through, and everything was delicious.I am going to have a hard time getting this back to my house, as many of my co-workers want to try it at their homes.

I already had a rice maker but I did not have anything to cook ancient grains. This product worked great on lentels, faro and several other multigrains. I also cooked couscos and was very suprised as to how well it came out. The only thing I would add is that you need to put either a slim towel or paper towels over the top of the cooking pot to alleviate the moisture but I had to do this with my other rice maker as well.

It’s really a nice option to cook rice easily. We cook rice almost every day and it works great and as I expected. I followed the instructions from manual, it works as described there. Very easy to use and very easy to clean as well. Quality of non-stick cooking pot and steamer basket is also nice. Overall excellent for me and I’ll continue using it, happy to have it.

Haven’t had this very long so haven’t tried different recipes I would like to. I tried rice (I use basmati rice) and it turned out OK same as stove top. On the plus side I didn’t have to worry about it cooking too long like on the stove if I didn’t hear timer and didn’t get the burner shut off as the rice cooker will switch to “warm”. I only cooked one Rice Measuring Cup for two people. Oatmeal came out fine – I like it better then on the stove or the microwave. I won’t be putting the “cooking pot” in the dishwasher – it looks like it is aluminum and aluminum changes color – oxidizes with dishwasher detergent (oxidation can be removed using “Brillo” pads but that’s a hassle). This is a handicap for easy cleaning when you have to do a part by hand. The pictured care and cleaning directions are awful – no 2 shows pulling the condenser collector but I can not get it to come off. Finally went to other reviews and someone mentioned the hing so I looked on the back and there it was! Doesn’t look anything like the picture in the manual. It is not easy to take off – poor design. Plus others have reviewed it has broken and there is no replacement part (!!) for it. Seems to me Hamilton beach should have replacement for a part that breaks with normal use. It was shipped to me in the rice cooker box – no outer cardboard box. The Styrofoam was broken so I was worried it would not work. Fortunately there were no dings to the unit. All said I am looking forward to trying other foods in the rice cooker. Especially steamed foods. I can think of quite a few I want to do – spinach, shrimp etc.

I like the convenience of putting the ingredients in the cooker and then leaving it to do its thing. I did find the measuring cup for the rice a little hard to read. The rice on the bottom seemed a little more crunchy but still tasted great.Overall a nice product to have if you make rice often. Can also be used for steaming foods as well.

I also cook rice on the stove top, but now it’s the rice cooker. I have been wanting to try a rice cooker to see how it turns out, I’m glad I received this product as a review, the rice was done quickly, didn’t have to wait like I usually do when I do it on a stove top. The steamer is an extra and the oatmeal just as. Now I set the rice and oatmeal when need so, and I’m happy. I don’t know longer have to stand over the stove and wait, just set and go.

I have always hated boiling rice, this rice cooker definitely makes it convenient especially if you are making a larger portion. The first time I used it, the rice was cooked pretty well. I definitely recommend measuring exactly water and rice. This is super easy to use and set up and I like the fact that it’s digital.

This rice cooker have some awesome features. You can cook long grain rice, short grain rice, brown rice, arborio rice, basmati rice, jasmine rice and sushi rice. You can cook hot cereals in it also such as cream of wheat, grits, old fashioned oatmeal and steel cut oats. You can cook grain in it also such as barley, buckwheat, farro, millet, quinoa, sorghum and wheatberries. You can also steam food and vegetables in the rice cooker and best part you can cook rice and steam food or vegetables at the same time. This rice cooker is an excellent size for a family of four. If you have a larger family you will need to get a bigger size cooker.

I’m so glad we decided to purchase the Simplicity Rice Cooker. I’m so bad at cooking rice that for years we’ve been throwing money down the drain on already cooked, microwaveable rice. Since receiving this product, I’m happy to say I can now successfully cook fresh fluffy rice. The instructions are very simple, and in less than an hour, you have nice home cooked rice without any of the preservatives. I would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

When I initially received my rice cooker I thought this was going to be one of those rarely used small kitchen appliances taking up shelf-space.I am one of those cooks who I’ll admit bought the microwave bags of rice, but I have found it extremely useful for cooking grits, oatmeal, beans, soup/chili, steaming vegetables, fruits and tamales, and of course making wild rice on a few occasions.

I fixed Spanish Chickpeas with rice last night…it turned out fantastic! I put all ingredients in the cooker and hit the preset button for white rice and that was it! The non-stick coating makes it so easy to clean!I only wish that more recipes were included!

This has helped us get to eating healthy! I throw in the rice, you can use Broth instead of water giving a great flavor for a change. Steaming vegetables taste so much better then boiled! Bar-B-Q your meat and you got a meal. And since their is only 3 of us, we have enough for lunch the next day. And clean up is fast and easy!

The Hamilton Beach Digital Simplicity Rice Cooker and Steamer rocks! I love this thing! It is so easy to use. This is my first rice cooker and I couldn’t be happier with it. It comes with everything you need, except the rice of course. This rice cooker has it’s own measuring cup. If I use 3 of these cups or scoops of rice, then I fill up with water to the 3 line in the cooker bowl. If I need to rinse the rice first, a rise bowl(doubles as a steamer basket) is also included. Plug this thing in, turn it on, select the cooking method and that’s it! I was a little skeptical at first but soon I had fluffy perfectly cook rice! When the cooking cycle is done it will automatically switch over to “warm”. The delay start option is super convenient. I can set it up to 15 hours in advance. It’s great to be able to come home from work for lunch or the end of the day and have the rice hot and ready for me. I can also cook breakfast grains in it. So I can set it at night and when I get up steal cut oats or grits are ready. The steamer basket lets me steam veggies and other food in the cooker. I make potsticker dumplings in it several times a week now. Bean, chili, soups, boxed rice or noodle mixes, cous cous, etc. can all be made in this thing. It works great for me and it’s easy to clean. The nonstick aluminum bowl comes out and can go in the dishwasher along with the scoop, rice paddle and lid insert.

Unlike my microwave rice cooker, this cooker doesn’t overflow. It’s easy to use and cleanup is easy. Have only tried it with rice. Looking forward to trying it with other grains and, when the weather cools, cooking oatmeal.

I received my rice cooker and thought it was a great addition because I usually cook some type of rice (mostly brown rice) every Sunday. I read the instructions was surprised that this cooker will add or decrease cooking time based on the moisture. The cooker did add some time to my rice and it came out great. The rice was not scorched and it separated nicely. I’m looking forward to using the steam basket to steam small servings of vegetables.

We used my last rice cooker constantly till it blew up. Hamilton Beach is a much better buy! You can leave the rice on warm without it toasting at the bottom like my last one. And the delay function is fantastic! I also like the steaming shrimp and vegetables while my rice is cooking. I would recommend this product to everyone!

I got my Hamilton Beach Simplicity Rice Cooker a few weeks ago. I was extremely excited to try this bad boy out. Rice is a staple for most of our meals so I knew I’d be getting a lot of use out of it. I’ve already made a few batches of both white and brown rice and they have been cooked perfectly every single time! I love that you can cook oats, barley, and grains in this pot. It makes things so much easier! You can also use it to steam your veggies while your rice is cooking! It’s literally a time saver!! I love my Rice Cooker and I can not wait to get creative and make so many more yummy meals for my family!
