Works great. The front load feature is much easier to use than the classic design, and the carafe does not drip at all. It makes for a satisfying, no-spill coffee brew process. The strong brew feature has the added bonus of allowing you to use less coffee for an ordinary brew result. Was able to circumvent the atypical filter shape and lack of specific accessories for the machine (which means no standard permanent filter baskets fit), when I found a reusable hemp filter online. Very happy with this purchase.

Received coffee maker 5/14, read manual. Love having filter basket w/ handle & accessing from the front. Markings on CM for water. Piece de Resistancé timer setting enabling me to have fresh cup of coffee immediately. Water filteration pod with basket/handle going in water reservoir. After 30 days readout on timer states “CLEAN” Lastly if I forget to turn it off it turns off immediately after 2 hours.

Hamilton Beach has the best design group! This coffee maker is sleek, a little tall (but fits nicely under the cabinet) and has the most convenient feature I have ever used. With the capability to fill the reservoir in the front there is no need to pull the maker out every time you want to brew. It also has a charcoal filter pod that is easily inserted and will be easy to replace when that time comes. It uses cone filters, which I prefer, and the basket swivels out easily for filling. It has all the extras, delay, brew options and a 2 hour auto shut off that I enjoy. Best of all, it brews a fabulous pot of coffee!

I wanted a coffee maker with everything! I almost found it! Almost , because this coffeemaker is supposed to be easy access and you are NOT supposed to have to move it out from under the above cabinet.Some cabinets are lower than the normal because the water cannot be poured into it if it is all the way back to the wall on the counter.So this feature does not work . It is a tall coffee maker.As far as the rest of the features they are all wonderful! You can program the timer to have coffee made at any time you choose and it will automatically turn itself on at the time you program in. That in itself is very easy to do. It has options for the type of brew you want from light to dark! It has yet another option that you can choose to brew only 4 cups if needed. Best feature is the automatic shut off. This machine will turn off after 2 hours. This is great! I have forgotten to turn off my coffee maker when pressed for time leaving the house for work. Now I know if I forget, it will shut off for me! The handle on the coffee pot is small enough for small hands. Not bulky at all. The spout pours where you want it. No spilling! The clock lights up. That’s nice! It makes very flavorful coffee too!

Pros:Display Visibility – Nice large numbers. Very easy to read. Coffee Brewing – Did a nice job with the actual brew. Coffee tasted great.Steam Release – Steam vents are towards the front of the top which helps avoid the bottom of cabinets from getting hit with steam.Coffee Filter Basket – Easy access to the coffee / filter basket for easy filling.Brew Options – Nice to have 1-4 cup; regular; or bold brewing options. But, you cannot select 1-4 cups AND Bold. Programmable – Nice to program brewing especially for the morning. However, instructions say to unplug the coffee maker after use which renders programming useless if unplugged. You would have to reset everything when you plug it back in.Cons:Size – On the taller & wider side. When adding water, need to pull machine away from under cabinet so carafe can be emptied of all the water. You can’t pour it at enough of an angle otherwise.No Brew Complete signal – it would be helpful to have the machine beep or signal that it has finished brewing.No 1-4 markings – There are no markings for amounts less than 4 cups on the Carafe or the water level indicator on the coffee maker. Brew Options – Nice to have 1-4 cup; regular; or bold brewing options. But, you cannot select 1-4 cups AND Bold. Carafe Lid – Does not come off easily for cleaning. Carafe Warming Settings – 1. No option to set Carafe Warming Plate Temperature. 2. No option to set length of time before Carafe Warming plate shuts off.

I really like that this coffee maker fits under the counter and doesn’t have to be pulled out to fill the reservoir. I tried it making regular and bold brews, and it makes good coffee both ways. I love the shape of the pot. I wish it could be a bigger pot, but I don’t think there is such a thing.

Brews a great cup of coffee and with the “auto pause” feature, coffee is quickly available. Only four stars as this brewer requires cone shaped filters & even though a water filter is available, the pod needs to be replaced after 30 cycles, which can get pricey if one enjoys java!

I bought this coffe maker a little while back to replace an older worn out machine I had and what a great choice this Hamilton Beach Programmable Easy Access Plus Coffee Maker is. It has a lot of great features not found on other machines and it is so easy to access and clean. I love a great big cup of coffee in the early morning when I first get up to help me get started for the day, but I also hate to make it and wait for it to brew and with this Hamilton Beach coffee maker it does it all for me with no problems. I simply set it the night before and it automatically starts at the preset time, and all I have to do is pour it in my cup and grab the paper to start my day, what a joy. I also get the choice of a strong brew or a regular brew, I like strong myself and this machine gives me that choice and all I need to do is tell it when to be ready for me in the morning when it wakes me to that wonderful smell of fresh brewed coffee, nothing like that wonderful smell to get you going in the morning. Another great feature is Time Since Brew so when my lovely bride arrives in the kitchen she knows exactly how long the coffee has been brewing and that it will hold it warm for up to two hours for those late sleepers, and if you oversleep it will cut itself off after two hours automatically in case you forget, great safety feature. What a joy this machine is to own and operate, so easy to get to the swing out basket on top and easy to clean and change the filter, then slide it right back on the countertop. Nice compact and stylish design make it a “Winner” in my book, great product Hamilton Beach.

Kind of large and bulky compared to my old machine which was 30 years old. You would think that today’s technology could make it more compact. This one takes up double the counter space. Otherwise it works fine, so far.
