With just the lowering of the lid and the press of a button, you can have a single cup of hot coffee, brewed from a K-Cup** pod or your own grounds. This single-serve coffee maker lets you brew up to 10 oz. with a single pod, or up to a 14 oz. travel mug with grounds. With an easy-fill water reservoir and water-window, theres never any confusion or over-filling. You can also choose between regular or bold brew strength. A removable cup rest doubles as a storage container to hold the brew basket or single-serve pod holder when not in use. The included grounds basket is reusable, and the single-serve pod-piercing assembly removes for easy cleaning.

Really enjoy using this machine. The unit is very simple to use and makes some really nice coffee. The included extra fresh grounds basket allows you to custom blend your own favorite coffee to exactly the way you choose. Of course remember you can use any of the K cup type of coffees. No The machine is well made and nice looking on the counter. Only wish for a few minor changes. The overflow container is to shallow to contain much of a overflow and It would also be nice if the brewing sequence was a little faster. Please read your instructions. You will find that if you use your cup or mug that you are using, filled with the proper amount of water then poured into the reservoir and brewed you will not have any overflow. The machine is designed to brew the full amount of water ( up to 14 oz. ) that you add. All parts are easily removed for cleaning. The Flex-Brew is a joy to use and I enjoy it’s many advantages and some really good coffee.

I love this coffeemaker. It is quick and easy to use. It also gives you the option of using k-cups OR ground coffee so you don’t have to keep swapping out coffee pots. The only thing I did not like was that you had to put the exact amount of water you wanted in each time. I like having options of different sizes that the machine measures out for you. Other than that, it is a great product!!

I like that the coffee maker takes up less space than the other single cup coffee makers. Also a plus is that it includes the brewing capability other than having to buy K-cups. I usually drink a couple of cups a day and this certainly serves me well.

This Single Serve Plus coffee maker with the regular/bold option (model # 49979) is just the right size for my smallish kitchen. I only use ground coffee, not Kcups, and have had no major problems in the first few weeks of use. However, I will comment on a few negatives. The unit is very light and tends to wobble if it gets knocked accidentally. Also, the water level indicator is not reliable; the first fill of the day measures accurately, but succeeding fills are off. (I have to use a measuring cup to pour the water so I can get a consistent amount.) Third, the unit is not very quiet…water boils vigorously in the chamber and makes quite a noise. Finally, the black funnel basket I received has no handle; unlike the one shown on the diagram in the manual, this one has only a small tab on the front. I contacted Customer Service through the web site, and the response was that the funnel basket had been ‘re-designed’ and no longer has a handle! Since the basket is awkward to remove, the new design was certainly not done to improve the functionality…maybe just done to save a few cents in the cost??!!??

I have so far been pleased with this Flex-Brew Coffee Maker. The size does take up some room on your counter top. It is the size of many regular coffee makers, but if you have the counter space it will suit your needs quite well. The storage basket is a plus since you can store either the K-Cup basket or ground coffee basket, which you do not have to go searching for these items. However, the machine is a little noisy, so do not expect to have your coffee brew without you knowing it. For me I like to know when my coffee is brewing and when it is done. The style of this item is very well designed and is a sturdy appliance which if taken care of should last many years. Having two brew cycles regular and bold is a nice option. I prefer my coffee bold, but that is a personal choice, and a hot cup of coffee is something that you will get and well worth the price for this nice appliance made by Hamilton Beach.

What I love most about this coffee maker is that I can make just one cup, but I can choose between 4 oz of coffee or 16 oz.
