I made some healthy changes in my life and one of those was committing to walking more but getting a daily walk sometimes means lacing up the sneakers earlier than the rest of the house. I love to bring a protein-packed smoothie along but most blenders sound like a jet engine is starting in your kitchen. I always felt bad waking up the whole house. I was so excited when I heard about this blender! 55% quieter! It is so much quieter but with no loss of power. The 950 watts of power makes quick work of frozen fruit and ice but the drop down sound shield keeps the noise to a minimum. Once a week I make up a few Smoothie Baggies each has a scoop of protein powder, some fruit, sometimes I add powdered peanut butter or frozen cubes of Greek yogurt to add even more protein and toss them in the freezer. In the morning no need to bang cabinet doors & drawers, I grab the 20 oz. travel/personal jar (comes with a traditional larger blender jar too), add milk and one of my pre-made smoothie bags and quietly make my breakfast on-the-go. I have to imagine the engineers who designed this Hamilton Beach Sound Shield 950 are early morning walkers or runners (or more likely the poor souls that want to sleep in.) I thank you and my family thanks you.

I’m so excited about my Hamilton Beach SoundShield 950 Blender.I made cookie milkshakes for my staff. The instructions that came with theblender were very simple to follow. In operating the blender there were variousspeeds that you could use in getting the consistency of the ingredients being used.I love the sound shield, it keeps the sound of the blender to a minimal level. My staff loved the milkshakes. An added plus was the clean up of this blenderwhich requires very little time. I love the Hamilton Beach SoundShield 950 Blender.

I got this blender about a month ago. I had to wait for something to make with it. Finally something came up! I needed peppermints ground up into a fine powder. I tried with 2 other pieces of equipment and ruined 1 of them. This blender made quick work of those peppermints! The powder was so fine I was able to sift it with cornstarch onto my homemade marshmallows! Cleanup was a breeze! I am so in love with this! I keep looking for recipes to use with it!

A really great blender. A really powerful blender that was able to process frozen fruit into a thick smoothie yet is able to blend delicate ingredients without overheating them. The sound shield does reduce noise by over 50% however it is cumbersome when adding additional ingredients. The cleaning feature works well to clean the blades. I mostly use the blender without the shield and overall I am extremely happy with it.

I put my new blender through a myriad of tasks and it has proven to be a very versatile performing blender. This blender has 950 watts of power to handle any job! The container is made from glass, over time the plastic ones seem to absorb odors and stain. The bottom of the container is wider than some I have looked at, which allows the content to move up and around better in the blending, pureeing process. The blender has made some silky smoothies very little air was incorporated! The “ice crush” setting handles crushing ice very well into fluffy ice shavings. I have used the blender to make a fine powder out my dehydrated vegetables that will be incorporated into homemade pasta. I was very impressed with the blenders ability to purée ingredients into a smooth hummus dip. The sound shield which I thought I wanted/needed is now a feature I can take or leave. I don’t know if I agree it reduces sound by 55%. The sound is more muffled, so more like a 25% noise reduction. I will probably just end up removing the shield all together. The performance of this 5 speed -3 setting blender with the no spill top has been outanding! The 20 oz travel mug has been very handy for smoothies to take on “the go”.

I got this blender last week and all the recipes I tried came out so well and quickly! It was easy to use and clean and the specific buttons were a plus too! The sound shield definitely helped muffle the loud grinding noise especially when crushing ice. That was not a deal maker for me personally because the blender doesn’t rum very long, but I can see if you were trying to be quieter for instance in the morning it would make difference.

Pleasantly surprised with this mixer. It really does dampen the sound. Not only does it have a “sound shield”, but there is also a heavy rubberized base that absorbs a lot of the vibration and sound as well. The blender jar is a nice and heavy glass pitcher. The pre-programmed functions while not a necessity, are quite useful. The smoothie button has the blender pulse several times then starts mixing in earnest. I was wondering if there would be any large ice crystals after it finished, but the smoothie was just that – very smooth and that was a pleasant surprise. The cleaning function button worked pretty well – all I had to do was rinse the blender jar after the cleaning program finished.

This blender is absolutely fantastic at making smoothies and crushing ice for margaritas & daiquiris. The sound shield did muffle the sound but not enough to use in the morning and not wake people up. I guess I just don’t like having yet another item to clean. I do love the personal travel jar.

I got my blender. I spend a lot of money at a certain juice bar my favorite is called a Ever Green. I made one very similar and taste good. I also made my son a Strawberry shake that he raves about to his friends.This blender is large something you would see in a juice bar. What I like about it is even though you plug it in you still have to flip the switch on the side. It has the regular noise of blender and when you close the top the sound is definitely reduced which is an added bonus. This blender has 3 settings as well as a pulse. You will be happy to have your daily smoothies. The clean up was a breeze the blender literally breaks down to pieces the first time I hand washed in warm water that was before my first use. I after I made my smoothie I washed in the dishwasher no scratches cleaned very well although I prefer to hand wash. This will be an asset to any kitchen

I absolutely love this blender! The quiet cover does cut down a lot on the noise, but it’s still noisy although less than any other blend I’ve had. The blender itself is very well built and one of my favorite features is the cleaning cycle. Fill with 5 cups warm water, 2 drops of liquid dish soap, and push clean and it’s done! It does not clear the lid if there was something in there that splatters on it or the outside, but this is easily cleaned but using a dish cloth or sponge after the cleaning cycle, dipping it in the soapy water, and wiping the lid and outside. It says a lot of hand dishes or space in the dishwasher! I also got the personal blender jar which is awesome. The only thing is you really need to read the directions as you need to hold down the personal blender jar when blending. I didn’t realize this the first time and it did wear a little on the slots that the blender bottom fits in a little. However it still works and that is my fault for not reading the directions better. The jar can also be used to drink from and has an awesome top you can use to sip from. It also has measuring lines for your ingredients so no need to dirty measuring cups. I think I will order a second personal blender jar as I am doing SlimFast so I can always have a clean one on hand. All the blender parts other than the quiet shield can go in the dishwasher also. And there’s a very convenient opening in the regular blender caraff to add ingredients while blending, as well as a spout for pouring. I can’t think of anything that’s missing from this wonderful blender. I received it free to provide this honest review.

I got the 950 the other day. I was very impressed by the look of it. Very slick so I could hardly wait to try it out. It is very easy to use and very quiet. The 5 speeds gives you a wide range of choices for blending. I’ll be using it a lot more.
