My husband and I cook in kitchen together. I have a physical disability. I want to be more independent when cooking. I have never had a stand up mixer before. This one is awesome. I can not speak from any other experience. I can only speak on this one. I love the fact that it has suction cups at the bottom that adheres it to the surface. I love the easy way to raise and lower the mixing arm, by just pushing an easily located, touch button. We made homemade bread right out of the gate. We used the Hamilton Beach Simple Bread Recipe. I did alter the recipe a bit. The learning curve on the process for using this appliance, is easy to understand and to execute. Anybody should be able to use it. The mixing arm is easy to bring up and down; not heavy. the mixing tools insert and lock easily. I especially like the 7 speeds. A nice addition would be more bowls of different sizes. I do think a little more room for adding ingredients while machine is running, would be an added feature. The spout and spill cover works for some ingredients, however, it would be helpful if the bowl was wider at top for adding ingredients with or without the spill guard. The present configuration it is little tight if you want to use a spatula. These are just little things, and they are very minor and an opinion only. I have only used it twice. It may be I just need to use longer. I would definitely recommend this Hamilton Beach 7 speed stand mixer. I also love the red color. I need a few more appliances. I will be seeking more of the Hamilton Beach selection. These are products that the average person can afford to buy. Plus, the quality is great. I see that they have some more of them in red. I own a few Hamilton Beach appliances and I have not been disappointed.So far, no real downside.

I bought this mixer a few weeks ago and happy I did ..mixer is well made….. and mixes cookie dough to eggs very well and the suction cups on the bottom of mixer keeps it in one place while using it ……usefull tips on top of mixer

This mixer is fabulous. The bottom suction cups hold it still on the counter. The bowl locks in place…..that’s a game changer! The bread hook works so much better than the older model and the wish option is great on dry ingredients. I’m so happy I updated my 40 year old stand mixer!

The bowl is too narrow for putting things in and the cover is awkward and inconvenient. If I don’t use it, flour flies out and gets everywhere, but I love the color and the mixer works well, otherwise.

I love this mixer. I admit I’ve done some comparison and this mixer outperforms them all. It is a functional design. I even compared the KitchenAid mixer to this one and there is no comparison. This one is quieter and it doesn’t shake or move across the counter. I have used it to make cake, frosting, bread dough and it does it all like a boss. Although the body of the mixer is made of plastic it is a quality material and feels very sturdy. It is worth noting that this is not a commercial grade mixer that is made for making several loaves of bread at once. When used properly, you cannot go wrong.

A week ago this baby arrived and my daughter was ecstatic! It was lighter than I expected when we took it out of the box, but still worked much like the big boys. It was very well packaged to prevent damage in shipping – a definite plus.For our first test run, we made one of the recipes in the enclosed booklet (dinner rolls) the next day, which worked well for our dinner that night.As I said, it’s not as heavy/hefty/sturdy as some of the bigger boys, but this will work well for the home baker (my daughter already claimed this one) or an everyday home chef.I really liked the “button lock” for the tilt function. It is not just push the button to unlock it and lift the head, but you also need to push the button to put the head down – which is a great safety function. No more unexpected drop downs or splashing from a “re-position/re-start”.Another safety feature we liked were the “suction cups” on the base that helps keep it on the counter/table/work bench, allowing it to “stay put” (no creeping over the surface) when using at higher speeds.The only “question” I had is why make the splatter shield so small? Yes it does keep liquids from splashing up and it is relatively easy to add liquids to the batter with the opening on the shield, but would have been nice for the opening to be larger to use with non-liquids. We did try to use it for flour – but literally could only put in the flour with a tablespoon (See the video attached) … NOT great functionally, but I know it will be used for liquids, just not dry ingredients that can “splatter” and “fly” just like liquids.Oh and all was very easy to clean both before using (right out of the box) and most importantly after using. Personally I hate when it takes longer to clean up machines than it did to use it.I can definitely seeing this being used by my baker for many many years.I received the Hamilton Beach Red Stand Mixer for free/discounted price to facilitate my testing in exchange for my honest review. The Hamilton Beach Red Stand Mixer 7 Speed is a beautiful kitchen appliance. It was packaged securely and easy to open and assemble. All parts fit into the mixing bowl. The mixer is lighter than other brands, but it functions just as well with suction cups to keep it in place. It is easy to store and a compact appliance. I have prepared perfect mashed potatoes, coffee cake, and kneaded bread. I look forward to trying out many more recipes.
