i have a small kitchen so this grinder fit right in. the diameter of the base is approx.4 1/2″ and the height is approx. 8 1/4″. it fits in the space of a large coffee mug. it has clever closing storage for the short cord at the base so the cord is not dangling and getting in the way. i was pleasantly surprised to find herb levels as well as coffee bean levels inside the stainless steel grinding bowl as i do both products. i would like the bowl to have a smoother rime but this does not effect the work it does and it does a great job. the grinds are course, medium, and fine with adjustable timing. this is a personal choice based on the product being ground and you. have a good time trying them all, i sure did. my youngest daughter, a friend and i had a grinding party to prepare our dried herb combinations for the freezer and served cold-brewed coffee and mexican chocolate coffee cookies. ( ground frozen chocolate covered coffee beans to add to the cookie dough.) it is very easy to clean since the bowl is removable. so basically it is fill the bowl, chose you grind, chose your time, and push the go button and done. it’s stable no counter creep. enjoy.

I was very pleased with the operation of the grinder. My prior grinder required I hold a button and wait for the coffee to reach the desired consistency. The 80393 is simple, select the grind (coarse, medium or fine) the number of cups and add coffee. At this point it is a quite hands free operation, the timer is automatic. Then the stainless chamber removes for coffee removal and really easy cleaning.The grinder suits my needs perfectly, and has improved my espresso brews significantly (now I am getting great creama ). I knew fresh ground coffee produced the best results, but the Hamilton Beach Custom Grind improved the job and made clean up easy. It also makes my dog happy by NOT scarring her with the loud high pitch the old grinder had (it was really annoying).It does have a cord storage feature which seems useful (mine is now permanently next to the coffee makers and does not get stored) , a brush attached ( I have not used , because I haven’t needed to use it) . It takes up very little space and looks good with my other coffee stuff.All in all, the dog is happy, I am happy, I couldn’t ask for more.
