The Hamilton-Buhl Smart-Trek Deluxe Stereo Headset is a stereo headset with an integrated volume control and a USB plug, making it suitable for use with Mac and PC computers. This headset is built to last, specifically to stand up to the demanding environment of a school’s computer lab.
The Smart-Trek Headset utilizes leatherette earcups for a comfortable over-ear fit. These earcups are easy to clean, and they provide passive noise isolation. The headband is adjustable to fit people of all ages.
The headset makes use of a flexible and durable gooseneck microphone, one with noise-canceling technology to make all communication as clear as possible. A 5′ Dura-Cord cable is kink, knot, and chew resistant, thanks to its PVC-jacketed brailed nylon cord.

This is an inexpensive and reasonably sturdy headset, however the sound quality in the headphones is basic and the microphone is pretty much unusable. We’ve tried on both a Chromebook and a MacBook Pro, and the microphone picks up lots of static to the point of drowning out voices, in both Zoom meetings and recording in Audacity. The over-ear specification may be appropriate for very young ears, but for middle-schoolers and up these are on-ear.

If you are not in a terribly noisy environment this headset will give you the best quality sound for your phone, etc. Most so-called noise cancelling microphones severely alter the sound of your voice, often rendering speech undecipherable. The earpieces are comfortable and sound good, too..

These headphones are fairly comfortable and provide adequate adjustments to fit most heads. They provide good sound quality during my meetings on Zoom and Teams. The volume adjustment is easy to use.

I have 4 kids (I ordered 4 one for each) that need to study online due to the pandemic. After searching for an affordable, durable, and comfortable headset with microphone I settle with this one. B&H delivered super fast. From the look this headset fits every aspects that I asked for, but it is too soon to tell since we own it only 2 weeks. We used it with 2 mac mini and 2 imacs.
