This is an awesome set that includes a santoku…my new favorite knife…and a carving knife. These knives are not typically included in sets. I love the 3 rivets and the metal cap as this makes the knives feel more comfortable and balanced. The little 3″ paring knife is perfect for so many little tasks such as apples and strawberries.

After a couple years of using old, unsharpened knives, this knife set is a revelation. One of my least favorite things was slicing tomatoes with a defective knife – what a mess! But these knives make clean, effective slicing an easy and enjoyable task. We plan to make potatoes au gratin tonight and I have no doubt we will be able to thinly sliced the potatoes with minimal effort. I love that it comes with a sharpener too, so never again will I have to suffer dull knives.

If you do not own steak knives, it is nice that this configuration includes the steak knives in it, so it is like an added bonus. These knives feel great in your hand and will provide hours of comfort working in the kitchen. The block consists of some of the most used knives in the kitchen as well.
