The wood block is heavy enough that I know it will not easily tip over and the darker wood tone goes well with my decor.. I also like that the set includes both the knife sharpener and kitchen shears. This set should give me many years of use. I would definitely recommend this set.

A very good set and the chef’s knife cut through a pork tenderloin like butter. The knives are sharp as you would expect and should be great for us, since we are not professionals. The blades are not quite a thick as a previous set we had but that doesn’t seem to affect performance. The fact that they are stamped rather than forged make them more flexible and they aren’t as likely to hold their sharp edge for as long. But that also makes them more economical. I rated the quality as good because I know that there are higher quality knives out there at a higher price point. The hardwood storage block is nicely finished and looks great on our kitchen counter. At 5 inches the serrated utility knife seems a bit short to me but that may be personal preference. One tip on a steak knife needed to be filed smooth.

This Henckels Knife Block Set is everything I need in my kitchen’s knife set. The wood block is very nice looking, heavy and solid. The knife blades are stainless steel and very sharp. The handles covering the shanks are a composite material attached with 3 rivets. Included in the set are various prep knives, a bread knife, 6 steak knives, kitchen shears and a steel sharpening tool. This set is great for any home kitchen. The knives are dishwasher safe and are made in India.
