Every new at-home chef’s necessity.Having previously had a set of Henckel’s knives for about 15 years now, I was interested in seeing what they had available in today’s market. I picked up these and haven’t been disappointed. Not only did it come with about 15 different knives, it includes a sharpening piece and a pair of shears. Now the price may seem expensive but it’s not; it comes out to about 10 dollars a knife. A really good value. This comes with a set of knives that are full tang(so they’re sturdy), they’re lightweight and easy to sharpen. It comes with any type of knife you might need from a paring knife to the big Chef’s knife and everywhere in between. It even has 6 steak knives, great for families. I also love how these knives are well balanced. The wooden storage block is even a medium-dark brown, instead of the typical oak. As a bonus, they even come pre-sharpened. They easily dice up the toughest of vegetables, even hard squash. Love this set of knives, it is a great addition to any kitchen.

They are a decent value for the price I paid. Incredibly sharp out of the box. My only complaints are that my order stayed as “order being processed” until the day it was shipped (which was the company that was shipping it out and not Home Depot), and that the blades scratch very easily.

This Henckels Solution Knife Block set is sharp! Yes, a pun, but they really are sharp and good-looking. This set includes 6 steak knifes, scissors, a sharpening rod, paring knife, serrated utility and bread knives, 6” utility knife, an 8 inch chef’s knife, and my favorite the 5.5” prep knife. Each knife is comfortable to hold and nicely weighted. All store safely in their own slots in a cherry wood colored knife block. The Henkel brand of knives is one we’ve used for years, and it’s good to see they still made quality cutlery.

The Henckels 12-Piece knife block set is a good set for anyone starting a new kitchen collection or upgrading an old one. There are some good features about this set, and a couple of questionable features. The good is that the blade extends from the tip to the top of the handle. Which is good, considering that some blades break off easily since they don’t extend up as far. The wooden block provides good and stylish storage and the sharpness was good. There is a good variety so that they work well not only in a dinner setting, but also in the food preparation. A couple of things that may not be the usual Henckels quality. The blades are somewhat thin and thus flimsy. Secondly, some blades are serrated and hard to sharpen. Henckels has better quality knives. Still, it is a good price for an everyday usage of knives and is well worth the cost.

If you can get this set under $100 it’s not a bad deal. It’s far from being a high quality set of knives. I’ve spent the past 40 years as a toolmaker so I know good quality metal work when I see it. This set is just OK, not professional quality, in case you are wondering.
