This is the perfect set to start out with if $$ are an issue. They are designed just like the knives made in Germany and it’s German steel so I know they’re going to stay sharp. My favorite knife is the 5″ santoku, not often found in any set. It’s a great little chopper and is super sharp.

These knives cut great, however, I was very disappointed to see the staining on the blade that happened after the first use! My husband used the knife to cut a roast and when I washed the knife, less than an hour later, there were stains and marks left on the knife from the roast. We have had a set of knives for over 15 years (from another brand) that we never had this problem with. The staining is the only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 star. I know the staining does not affect the use of the knife, however, for the price we paid for this set I don’t feel the knives should stain….especially since they are stainless steel.

I was excited about this product. I’ve used many different knives from this company before. I haven’t gotten to use them a whole lot yet as I just received them, but everything arrived and unpacked quite nicely. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the weight. I two other knives (chefs and paring) that have a good solid weight to them and I think they’ve spoiled me. These were a little lighter than I was expecting. But for the price a good buy! Sharp and this set had all the different knives I wanted. Wood is a little lighter than pictured but that’s not a problem.
